In the city of Chicago, Paige Smith is a 19 year old inspired dancer, who dreams of becoming a professional dancer like her mother, Lily Smith. Paige grew up and live in an apartment with her  father, Luke Smith, who raised her alone, after his wife died from childbirth.

Luke did his best to raise Paige as a single father, and works hard to provide for her every needs. He never starts dating again or even remarry after Lily died, as Paige is his Number 1 priority. When Paige was 4, she started to love dancing, and Luke sees that it's a gift from Lily.

Paige then starts dancing lessons when she was 4 years old, by the time she grew up, Paige became one of the most talented dancers in the academy and even won lots of trophies at dancing competitions.

Today, she is 19 and has graduated high school, and has got into NYU in New York. The night before she left for college, Paige is packing her final things for college, as her dad came in to check on her. "Hey, princess.", Luke replied.

"Hey, Dad.", Paige smiled. "You're almost finish packing?", he asked. "Yep, just packing all of my trophies into the box.", Paige replied, putting her trophies into a box.

"Paige? I know that you want to be like your mom when you grow up. But the thing is, I don't want you to follow the same footsteps as her.", Luke replied. Paige pause by his words and turn around. "What?", she asked. "Look, princess. I don't want you to feel guilty because of your mother.", Luke sighed.

"Dad, I know you're still hurt by her death, but this is my dream! All my life, I want to be like her, because I never knew her my whole life, and dancing reminds me of her, even I never met her.", Paige sighed.

"Paige, every time you dance, you reminded me of your mother. It hurts me to see you dance like her.", Luke replied. "Dad, this is my dream, this is what I want to do in my life. But you know what hurts most? Seeing you sad about her every day, and it breaks my heart every time.", Paige sighed, as she picks up her box of trophies.

"Please, Dad. I need you to support me and let me follow my path in life. Plus, Mom wouldn't want you to let her down, like you are letting me down right now.", Paige sighed. Luke looks at a framed photo of Lily, displayed on Paige's nightstand, and let out a huge sigh.

"Ok. I'll support you and I love you, no matter what you choose. I promise that I'll be there for you when you need me.", Luke sighed, as he held Paige's hand, kissing it. "Thank you, Dad.", Paige sighed as a tear came down her eye. Paige then hugs him.

The next day, it was time for Paige to head to New York for college. She and Luke packed all of her boxes of stuff in the back of her car. After packing the last box inside, Paige says her goodbyes to her dad in front of the house.

"This is it.", Paige sighed. "For now.", Luke replied. "I can't believe I'm going to leave you by yourself.", Paige sighed. "I know, but don't worry about me. I'll be ok.", Luke smiled. "Oh, I have something for you.", Luke replied, giving her a small box.

Paige opens it and it was a gold heart locket. "It was your mother's. Inside there's a photo of her and I, so you'll know that we'll always be with you.", Luke replied, taking the locket out of the box and puts it on Paige's neck. "It suits you.", Luke sighed.

Paige look at the locket around her neck and then she starts to cry. Luke felt her pain. "Oh, come here, princess.", Luke sighed, as he pulls her in for a hug. "I'm going to miss you.", Paige sighed. "I'm going to miss you too.", Luke replied.

"I promise I'll call you everyday.", Paige replied. "I know you will.", Luke smiled. "I love you, Dad.", Paige sighed. "I love you too, princess.", Luke replied. Luke and Paige then breaks their embrace as Paige hops into her car, and Luke shuts it after she went in.

"See you soon, Dad.", Paige smiled. "See you soon.", Luke smiled, winking at her. Paige smiles as she drives off the driveway and drives off the street, with Luke standing there, watching her drive away.

Inside her car, Paige looks down to her locket and smiles, before putting on her sunglasses on, as she drives out of Chicago.
