~~~I'll pick her up, and drop her off on the outskirts of our town~~~
(Y/N)'s mind was blurry. Almost as if the world was obscured by fog for eternity and she would never find her way out. She was only aware of one thing for a few seconds:
The fact that she felt like she was in the middle of a blazing furnace.
She fought to open her eyes and was startled by what she saw. Bright oranges and yellows and whites filled her vision. It was agony to look anywhere. But that was nothing compared to what her skin felt like.
The pain she felt on the left side of her face was white-hot, almost cold. She screamed and batted at the flames, but it didn't help much. She could hear distant voices, but she couldn't focus. She needed to get out. Somehow.
She felt a hand take hers. Was it...Hiro? She chose to believe that and let her hand be tugged towards what she assumed to be safety.
"C'mon, (Y/N), just a little farther!" She heard a voice cry desperately. "Please, stay with me..."
(Y/N) heard a deafening crack and quickly spun around towards it. A beam holding up the ceiling of a room was unstable now.
And it was falling right towards her.
"(Y/N)! Move!" The voice shouted. She couldn't move. Her brain screamed at her to run but her feet refused to listen. In less than a second before impact, she was roughly pushed aside, skidding to her knees.
A scream sounded through the flames.
"H-Hiro?" She stuttered. No. No, Hiro couldn't be dead. (Y/N) refused to believe that.
She dashed to the pillar, screaming for help to lift it. She wasn't able to see his face.
"BAYMAX! HELP!"
No reply. Oh god, she was going to die. Why now? She and Hiro were still so young--there were still things to do. Get married, have kids, win the lottery, visit Japan. She still had a future with Hiro.
And she wasn't about to give it up.
Flashback:
"So yeah, basically my parents divorced over a bowl of soup," Dakota concluded, sarcasm dripping from every word.
"Wow. That's rough, man," Tadashi commented. "But you're really brave to go up against your dad."
"Thanks," she replied, gently pressing into the large bruise she had gotten on her ribcage from the last time she'd been 'brave'.
"I've gotta go, but can I meet up with you tomorrow at the same place?" Tadashi asked. Dakota's smile faltered, then became even brighter.
"Of course! See you then!" She exclaimed as he left.
She was starting to really like this guy.
ANOTHER CHAPTER, ANOTHER HORRIBLE IDEA FOR AN ENDING.
