~~~She never drives her car, she drives me crazy~~~
(Y/N) sighed, popping her knuckles and counting the minutes until her shift ended. Since her four-year absence wasn't exactly approved(big mistake on her part), she was now being punished by--she gulped audibly--a desk job.
'Just thirty more minutes, then you can go home and get ready for your date with Hiro," (Y/N) reasoned with herself.
"Jesus, how did this guy break out?" She mumbled as she filed a report about a guy who easily escaped from a nearby asylum. Just as she finished up, (Y/N) looked at the clock.
6:00.
"Aw crap!" She exclaimed, throwing the stuff she needed to take home into her backpack. "Hiro's picking me up at seven!" She grabbed her backpack and rushed out the door of her office, nearly taking out a coworker in the process.
"Sorry!" She called out over her shoulder, not giving a fuck at all as she bolted out of the building and jumped into her car.
Hiro walked up to (Y/N)'s apartment door, extremely nervous. Things had seemed so much simpler when they were kids; why was taking her out to dinner and a movie so nerve-wracking? He shook his head, trying to physically clear his mind, and then knocked on her door.
Followed by the sound of running feet and...was that a vase crashing to the ground? The door peeked open to reveal a single sparkling, (e/c)-hued eye.
"Hiro, is that you?" (Y/N) asked.
"The one and only," Hiro said confidently. She laughed.
"Come on in then!" She said brightly, unlocking the door chain and opening the door.
"So why were you being so..." Hiro trailed off, so (Y/N) completed his sentence for him.
"Cautious?" She answered.
"Well, yeah. You're not that uptight," Hiro asked, concerned. (Y/N) sighed, shutting the door behind him as he came inside.
"A few days ago, I met up with Honey Lemon and Gogo on the street, and we came here for a girl's night," (Y/N) explained. "When we got here, my lock was busted. Nothing was missing, except..." Now it was (Y/N)'s turn to trail off, too embarrassed to tell Hiro about the picture.
"Except what?" He inquired anyways. Nosy bastard.
"Nothing important was missing. That's what was so weird," she said, grabbing her purse. "But enough of that, let's go have some fun!"
"I'm with ya," Hiro said, smiling and following right behind her.
Flashback:
(Y/N) sat, alone, in a mostly empty Chicago diner. She had just paid her bill, and was getting ready to leave the establishment. Before she could even stand up, a man walked in with a mask on, brandishing a gun towards the cashier.
"Give me all of that money. NOW," he demanded. Extremely frightened, the cashier--who looked to be only around sixteen--slowly pulled out all of the cash from the register. (Y/N) hid behind a tall-backed booth, forming a plan.
As soon as the man had his money, he backed out of the building, gun in hand. Then, he quickly ran around the corner and out of sight. Narrowing her eyes, (Y/N) dashed after him, leaping over the booth she was sitting and trailing the guy.
Eventually, he turned into an alley, and (Y/N) followed. It was a good thing she had a concealed carry permit as she took her emergency Glock out of her bag.
~~~[lol I know nothing about guns]~~~
An hour later, (Y/N) walked back into the diner, plopping the bag of money beside the cash register. The cashier gaped at her; how did this little kid get her hands on that stolen money?!
The cashier quickly ran for the owner of the restaurant, explaining the situation on the way.
"So you've brought back our funds, have you?" The older woman who owned the place asked. (Y/N) nodded. "Well then! Is there anything I can do to thank you? Perhaps a nice, hot cup of soup?"
"Ma'am, a woman named (M/N) (L/N) worked here around fifteen years ago. I need you to tell me everything about her."
Wow I think that flashback was longer than the actual chapter .-.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this cute little filler chapter as I write to next fluff-filled chapter.
//and by fluff-filled I mean someone is probably gonna die.//
See you then, Reader-chan!
