~~~She's got a way of turning sunshine into rain~~~
"So..." (Y/N) trailed off awkwardly. In her mind's eye, this meeting was a lot less awkward small talk and a lot more making out.
'Wait did I seriously just think that?' She thought, mentally facepalming. She nervously took a drink of her coffee.
Hiro sighed. The night before when Aunt Cass had answered the phone and yelled for Hiro to run down and get it, he was ecstatic to hear that (Y/N) was finally back in town.
Now, however, she wasn't being herself. Or, at least, the way she was four years ago.
"So, what did you find about your parents?" Hiro asked. By the look of guilt in her eyes, he instantly realized that it was a bad question to ask.
"They were murdered," she said, avoiding the lump in her throat. Hiro cringed the tiniest bit.
"Wow. I, uh, I'm really sorry," Hiro said.
"Nah, it's cool. They were ambushed, and I didn't get there in time. At least they died fighting," she said with a pained smile.
There was an awkward silence.
"Hey (Y/N)?"
"Yeah?"
"I really missed you," Hiro said, looking her directly in the eyes. She smiled genuinely, heart warming at the comment.
"I missed you too, knucklehead," she said, playfully punching him in the shoulder and accidentally hitting harder than intended.
"Ow! What was that for?!"
"Reasons."
"Reasons my ass."
"Oh my! Has our little Hiro been," (Y/N) gasped dramatically, "swearing?!?"
Both (Y/N) and Hiro burst into laughter, getting strange states from the other customers. She didn't care; she hadn't laughed like this in months.
Hiro watched her smile. God, he missed her.
"I love you so much," Hiro mumbled. (Y/N) hadn't heard all of what he said.
"What?"
"Uh...nothing!"
Flashback:
(Y/N)'s silhouette blended into the dark alley, working perfectly to cover her every move. She was supposed to meet this guy at midnight, and it was 12:15.
"Hey little girl, come on out," a voice said with menacing tone.
"I'm not a little girl," she said, annoyed. "Tell me where Mr. and Mrs. (L/N) are being held."
"If I took you to my place, would you follow me there?" The man said creepily, inching up behind her and putting a hand on her shoulder.
She shrieked, whirling around and punching him in the neck. He choked on air for a moment, rasped a few curse words, and limped away.
That was the last time (Y/N) trusted anyone on her journey.
Merry Christmas Eve! It's like 12:30 am right now, so yay for messed up sleep schedules!
Sorry for the nonexistent updates, the holidays are quite busy and very tiring.
/also I'm playing Skyward Sword 24/7 shhhh/
Anyways, here's to a merry Christmas, Reader-chan! :3
