More and more people were refusing to obey the laws of the land and yet…
She has seen HIM as the monster. Both of them were aware of how hypocritical this was.
She was a liar and a thief, and he,
he was in fact a fellow liar not to mention a stalker. The only difference between them were their reasons besides their actions.
She did these to protect herself and to stay alive, while him…
He did this to win her back. To get her back into his protective arms and never let go.
In a world full of scammers, murderers and corrupt authorities, their “sins” were miniscule.
And yet…
The authorities loved to paint people like them as the bad guys. After all, it was a great way to cover up the urgent problems with this world that started to catch the eyes of the newer generations.
In their eyes setting an example was always more logical than trying to solve the pressing matters.
Because why would they even try to take care of corruption and rotting if there's someone else to blame?
So they cover it all up with mask like disguises, and hide every single reason behind these crimes.
They turn a blind eye to the poverty, to the abuse, hate, stigma and mental illnesses.
Because the voices of the people who started to speak up about these were still barely heard, they didn't have enough publicity yet…And if it relies on them, they'll never be heard or seen again.
People love to act like only a select few countries are so rotten and yet, they'd never think that their own governments could ever act similarly.
And so…
People like them, the victims of their circumstances, were the only bad guys who remained in the spotlight.
While the scum of their societies remains in the shadows. And for Spencer…
He was alright with all of these.
As long as they let him keep her, he's willing to play the villain.
Knowing how there are no true heroes to “rescue” her…While for her…
This whole world will remain as a living hell until a 180 degrees turn will commence. So, here she was in the swarm of fiery protesters demanding for changes.
No matter in which direction she turned, she was met with the same sight. Signs, raised fists, some clutching papers, pins and a passionate glint in the eyes of each one of them.
All of their voices booming into the distance, mixing and morphing into a deafening yell.
A scream that'll hopefully change things.Black lives matter!
Trans people are people!
Immigrants are just like us!
Love is love! We're here, and we won't go unnoticed anymore.
And so as she inhaled the air of change no matter how foul it might have been, she opened up her mouth and let her voice join the ones of millions all over the world.
And just like the others, only one wish remained in her thoughts:
Let things be different._
A/n:
This was a relatively old draft of mine but due to the current happenings and having to take some time off /cue the hiatus/, I've decided to finish it earlier than planned. As an LGBT+ member living in Hungary I'm affected by that infamous rule that was made by our rather queerphobic government and which caused an uproar world vise.
I know that my voice won't make a difference and I may not have the means to show up on protests or have some remarkable influence on people; but I still wanted to show that no matter what, I won't shut up and take this and neither will many of us.
