Narrators POV:

The first few months rolled by like this.
A week at school, a week at the hospital, and the stalker spamming her in the meantime.

Now it's already been 4 months since she started living with Beatrice.
The secretary has been like a sister to her by this point.

Her so-called mother didn't even try to get in touch with her during the first two months.
Afterwards, she spammed her with hysteric texts and voice mails.

As much as the allowance she could have gotten out of her mother was tempting, (Y/N) decided that there's no way in hell that she'll beg her and humiliate herself for just a few dollars.

Truly, there are many things that can be said about her, but even she knows that she still has a spine and some dust left behind from having her pride crushed.

So, she decided to hold her head above the water and if the level starts to rise again than she'll just get a side job.

For many, her reluctance to return home would be childish due to them not knowing her reasons against doing so.

The (h/c) remembered each and every single day she started crying on her way “home”, she remembered how so many times she would have rather chosen death than going back to that hellhole.

And yet…

That wrench had the audacity to command her to come home.

And so, just like many other times, she chose to disobey her.

The soft gust of cold air blew some stray strands into her face, effectively snapping her out of her trance.

(E/c) eyes glanced over to the fan, the floorboards creaked underneath her weight as she approached the small machine.

With a beep sound, the button turned red, signaling the (y/n) that the equipment turned off.

Checking her wristwatch, she noted that she still has 2 hours left until her afternoon classes start.

With a sigh, she stood back up, gaining a few cracks from her back during the action.

Returning to her chambers, she decided on killing off the remaining time by singing.

Approaching the small robot shaped speaker, the girl connected her phone to it.

As she pressed the button responsible for the shuffle playback, she closed her eyes.

First the strumming met her ears, then the piano and finally the sweet voice of Røsé.

Her lungs expanded with her deep breath, soon followed by the trembling of her vocal cords.
Her fingertips tapped against her thigh, mimicking the rhythm at the beginning.

Song after song, the (h/c) entered further into the zone.

From sad to angry all the way to happy, her emotions switched with each and every beginning tune.

By the end, she was dancing around her small room, twirling and twisting to the melodies oozing from her speakers.

The beeping of the alarm clock teared through the air, making her halt during yet another spin.

She peeked at the glass cover displaying the time.

'20 minutes 'till I have to go.' she concluded.

Turning around, she walked over to the speakers yet again.

After the girl got ready in a rush, she closed her eyes while mentally steeling herself for another day.
