Narrators POV:
A slight click sounded in the dead silence as the lock opened. The handle jiggled for a second before turning, allowing the young man to enter the home.
He has seen clearly why no one seems to like living on the first floor of a flat.
In his opinion, that secretary risked the safety of his canary.I mean, it's easy to watch people through those windows, and it's also easy to break into this tiny living space.
Dark green orbs scouted the area for movement.
He knew that they aren't at home, but still chose to be cautious.
As much as he would have loved to see his canary all dolled up on campus, he had work to do.He made his way towards the bedrooms, checking the first one. He quickly conducted that it's not his beloveds.
The pop musician posters and shoe wardrobe serving as enough evidence to prove it.
He creaked the door open to the second one, instantly saw that it lacked any personal touches to it.
He would have been surprised had he not known how (Y/N) acts in foreign environments.
His gaze wandered from corner to corner, trying to find a little nook to hide the device in.
After a while of scrutinizing the room, he concluded that the best place for it would be above the door.
So, he went over to it and stood on his tiptoes. As soon as he placed down the motion sensor camera, he decided to test it.
He pulled his phone out and opened up the application.
He waved his hand in front of the door and watched as his phone displayed live footage of the room.
'I'm just doing this to keep her safe' he thought to himself as he decided to leave the premises as soon as possible.
As much as he would have loved to stay and soak in the leftover scent of his canary, he knew that the more he stays, the bigger the chance is that he'll get caught.
Stepping out through the building's front door, he turned left and made his way to his doctor's office.
He most likely won't need an alibi, but if necessary he'll have one.
After all, no one questions an absence note made by a doctor. As the brunette entered the waiting room, his eyes scanned it over.
He knew that the more people witness his presence, the stronger his cover is.Sadly, only 3 people resided there besides him.
An elderly woman with a 6 year old boy and a tired looking young woman with brown and red hair.He took a seat in the row behind the seemingly exhausted girl and took his phone out.
He kept observing his surroundings while pretending to be immersed in a game until it was his turn to go into the examination room.
'Show time' he thought to himself as he walked into the room with a hunched back.
“Hello Spencer” greeted the doctor.
“So, tell me, what's wrong?”
The young man looked up at him with a pained gaze as he said
“Just a migraine and nausea. I threw up twice since the morning, so I didn't risk going to school.”“Sit down, and we'll go through the usual check up” the doctor said while motioning over to the hospital bed.
*5 minutes later*
“There appears to be no problem.
Tell me, did you perhaps get drunk last night?”
Spencer's eyes widened slightly
'Does he think that it's a hung over?'He decided to go along with it.
“Yes…
A few of my friends were over, and we wanted to say goodbye to the summer break appropriately” he said with an embarrassed chuckle. His doctor "tsk"ed at that while disapprovingly shaking his head.
Then turned to his secretary
"Susan, write an absence note for him for today” he called over.As the pale pink slip of paper landed in his hands mere minutes later, he allowed his nerves to relax.
Mission accomplished, a seemingly bulletproof alibi established.
