Kylies POV
Patch and I are going out tonight and I'm scared out of my mind! Tonight I'm going to tell him about Josh and I.
*phone rings*
"Hello?" I answer.
"Hey, how are you doing?" Josh asks.
"I'm so nervous." I tell him.
"Do you want me to come over?"
"I guess so, but I don't want Patch to see you." I can understand that. Well I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Alright, bye."
"Bye." He says then the line goes dead. I start to put make up on, then I hear the door bell ring. I jump up to go answer the door. "Hey babe." Josh says after I opend the door.
"Hey." I say then peck him on the lips. "Sarah, Josh is here!" I yell.
"Okay!" She yells back.
"I've got to finish my make up." I tell him. "I'll bring my stuff out here, so we can talk." I run to my room and grab all my make up, then run back to the living room.
"You know, I think you look just as good without make up." I look down at my feet and smile, and I can feel myself blushing. "Things are going to be alright, don't worry."
"I know. Its just I've never done something like this before."
"I understand."
"I hate to ask this, but should I leave my ring here?"
"Whatever makes you feel more comfortable, then do it."
"Are you sure you're ok with that?"
"Yes, I'm sure." He says, then raps me in a hug. I can feel myself starting to cry, but I'm able to keep from any tears spilling. After a few minutes I pull away.
"I need to finish getting ready." I say. As I'm getting ready, I'm asking Josh a bunch of "what if" questions.
"Kylie, you just need to calm down!" He says then starts to massage my sholders. "Wow, you are really stiff!"
"That's what happens when I'm nervous."
"You'll be fine. Even if you do end up crying, I'll always be right here to help you feel better." He says right as I finished. I turn around and look him in the eyes. "Its going to be ok." He leans down and kisses me. Its one of those long kisses that calms me down, but right as we pull away, the door bell rings and scares me half to deth. I look up at Josh and feel a tear run down my cheek. "Don't worry, things will all work out." He says as he wipes the tear away.
"Kylie, Patch is here!" I hear Sarah yell.
"Alright, I'll be there in a minute." I yell back. Josh leans back down and kisses me again. After he pulls away, I feel better. "Stay here until Patch and I leave. I don't want him to see you." I peck his lip then walk away.
I walk to the front door and see Patch. "Wow, you look beautiful!" He says.
"Thank you!" I blush.
"You ready?"
"Yep." I step out the front door and walk with him to his car. "Where are we going?"
"Its a surprise!" He grins. "Trust me you'll love it!" That's what I'm afraid of. He starts to play some music, then I relize what he playing. The Beyond 5 album! I haven't listend to it since I started dating Josh. Patch starts singing along and I almost forgot how good of a sing he was! "Were here." He says after a few songs.
"No way!" I say. Its the park we had our last date at!
"Yes way!" He laughs then gets out of the car. He comes around to my side and opens the door for me. He's holding a picknick basket in one hand, then grabs my hand with his other hand. He walks me to the same table we ate at last time. As we eat, he tells me stories about my mission. After we eat we walk over to the swings, just like we always do. As we swing I can feel my heart pounding. I'm going to have to do it sooner or later.
"Patch, I need to tell you something." Right as I say that, he says he needs to ask me something.
"Go ahead." He says.
"No, you go first." I tell him.
"Ok," He pulls a small box out of his pocket, and get on one knee. "Kylie, I'm so nervouse right now. I don't really know what to say. Thank you so much for waiting for me, you have no idea how much that means to me. So I thought instead of waiting any longer, I'll just do it now. Kylie, will you marry me?" I tried hold back tears, but now I'm crying into my hands and its not one of those happy cries. "Kylie, what's wrong?"
"I-" I try to tell him but I'm crying to hard to talk. "I can't." I finally get out.
"What do you mean you can't?" He asks shocked.
"I'm engaged to Josh." I say through sobs.
"What? Is he making you do this?"
"No, it is totally my choice."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to distract you while you were no your mission."
"You promised you would wait for me!"
"I know, but then you told me you wanted me to date while you were gone, then I met Josh and... oh, I don't know. I just want to go home." He stands up and I see a few tears run down his cheek. "Patch, I'm-"
"Its alright, let's just get you home." He fakes a smile, then walks to the table to clean up our mess. "No, I've got it." He says as I try to help him. I nod then walk to his car. I pull out my phone to send Josh a text.
To Josh:
This is a mess! Please be there when I get back!!!
After I hit send I see Patch walking up. He unlocks the car then puts the stuff in the back. We get in and drive home. Its a very quiet, awkward drive home. When we get home he walks me to the door.
"Patch, I under-" I'm cut off by him kissing me. I feel sparks just like the ones I felt the first time we kissed. I forgot about this. Pretty soon he pulls away.
"I'm sorry, I had to. I hope you and Josh are happy together." He says then runs to his car and drives off.
