Finding the real Tony Stark

Chapter 14

"Well... that was-." Steve was lost for words.
"Something..." Peggy says finishing it off.

"Awww look at them finishing eachothers sentences like an old married couple." Sam teases while the two said people blush.

Most of the hall were trying to recover.
To Odin that would be like banishing Thor to earth for no reason.

Tony was in his office shooting paper balls at a mini basket ball hoop on the back of his office door. His feet were propped up on the table next to some accords paper work. His hair was disheveled and his tie hung loose around his shirt which had its top button open. This was before Siberia but after civil war so somewhere in between...

Some people snorted while others rolled his eyes. Of course he has a net in his office and is playing with that instead of doing work.
So childish. But pretty adorable.

The phone started ringing and when he saw the number he furrowed his eyebrows and set everything down.

When he picked up the phone and answered, "Mrs Barton... is everything ok?"

"W- why were you calling him Laura...!?" Clint sputtered. She put a finger to his lips and mouthed the words just watch.

Her voice came through the phone.
"Tony please I'm begging you. Clint won't answer his phone I've phoned like 13 times he won't pick up neither will anyone else! Clint gave me your number for emergencies and I'm really sorry to bother you but- it's Ross... he's found us. Please Tony..."

Clint gaped at the screen, "Laura..."
"Im fine now Clint"
"Im so sorry!"
She buried deeper into his side.

Tony was already up and running towards an open window.

"Please don't do it for me just- do it for the kids."
"Laura, calm down... look I'm on my way just stay calm. Do you have like a safe room? If so hide there. Don't come out till I get there. Just don't panic I'm on my way."
She thanks him and hangs up so he can fly over.

He stuffs his phone into his pocket then jumps out the window.

Some people scream and shout. What the hell!? Others internally panicked.
Some that knew Tony know that he does this a lot and the suit caught him.

He tapped his watch and the suit formed around him.

"Awsome..."

As soon as he arrived at the farm, helicopters were circling the area. They hadn't found it but it was a matter of time.

He rushed to the front door and went straight in heading up to the safe room.
He knocks on the door.
"Laura... it's me can you come out?" They could hear her comforting her children saying Ironman was here to save them.

She opened the door to reveal baby Nathaniel, cooper and Lila.
"Cmon we have to go." They follow him down the stair but stop when he stops at the bottom. Someone is around the corner. He goes slowly then really fast turns around the corner and blasts an armed agent of Ross. It didn't kill him.

Just knock him out. Laura covers her mouth to muffle a scream while the kids stare.
Tony puts a finger to the slit where his mouth is so they would be quiet.

"Friday... scan the area" he whispers.
"Four bombs planted around the house sir. I suggest you move out fast. Other than that I see no agents or anyone. I shall put the countdown on your screen.

Tony rushed them out the house and got them to all start running.
The first Bomb went off... BANG that's part of the farm gone... BANG another. Two more. He called a spare suit that was waiting outside.
"Cooper Lila go to that suit it will take you straight to the compound I promise it's safe!"

They run and the suit takes off with them.
"Laura I don't know if we can make it far enough so just trust me-."
He can't finish as the last two go off at the same time.

The ground shakes, things blow up and explode everywhere. Loads of the explosion reaches them but Tony covers them with his whole body.

He yells out in pain when a large metal piece from that bloody god damn tractor digs it way through his suit and stabs him between the shoulder blades in his back.

"Do you trust me!?" He shouts over the noise. She nods. He picks her up by the legs and wraps her legs around his waist. One hand is on her back while the other holds the back of her head soothing her hair. Her face is pressed against his chest and she holds on with her legs and uses her arms to hold Nathaniel so god damn tight she might have crushed him.

The baby was squished between them and Tony knew it was safe to take off so he did.
"Hold on and don't let go!" He shouts over the noise. She does as told and he takes off into the sky. They fly just under the clouds and speed off to the compound. When they get there they can see the other suit safely put Cooper and Lila down then check them over to see if they are ok. Tony follows after but drops with a thud onto his knees.

He carefully puts Laura and her crying baby down while she untangles her legs from him.
"You guys ok?" He winces at the pain in his back. "Shit" he mumbled.
"Yeah we're all good are you ok?" Laura breaths out. "Yeah... yeah I'll be fine" he waved it off but then the suit and himself collapsed onto the floor.

"TONY!" Laura screeched. "Oh my god!" She gave Cooper the baby and knelt down next to tony who laid face first on the floor.

The kids behind looked panicked. I mean anyone would Ironman just collapsed after saving them.

No sound came from inside. She knocked on the helmet "Cooper give Nathaniel to Lila and help me take him inside. Lila can you find some help? Please"
They do as told and start trying to pick up the suit.

Then Laura sees an eject button hidden very well and presses it. The suit parts itself but gets stuck halfway because of the jagged piece of odd metal.

Peter walks in through the gates using his key card and whistles to himself walking nervously up the path to meet Tony.

"MR STARK!" He basically screams. He drops everything he's holding and runs up to Tony.
"Who are you!?" He spits as if they did it to Tony. "What the hell did you do to him!?"

"I'm sorry! I- I didn't do this... I'm Laura Barton I've been hiding but Ross blew up out farm and Tony only just got there in time to save us but this happened!" She gasped trying not to cry.

"Well that was a little mean kid..." Clint said to peter. He was angry for him shouting but understood Peter was scared and he was sad, terrified there were to many feelings.

"Who are you to say that?" Peter said implying civil war.
Laura puts a hand on his chest to stop him from starting a fight.
"I'm sorry... I am so god damn sorry Laura." He pulls her in tighter and kisses her head then settles with her on his chest his arms wrapped securely around her.

Lila comes running back with Natasha following and Nathaniel in her arms.
"I found Auntie Tasha!" She shouts coming to a halt.

"Auntie Tasha?" Some people snicker. They can I mean it's not everyday the worlds most deadliest woman spy acts all soft.

"What happened!?" Nat says worried. She kneels down next to Tony and checks his pulse while Laura briefly tells her how he got injured.

"Peter help me take him inside. I need to call Cho" she takes out her phone and asks for medical to be ready then carefully helps peter haul Tony up and take him to medical.

"Is he alright?" Pepper asks saying what almost everyone else was thinking.
"He's fine now... sort of? Well he's fine from that certain injury in a way idk. He recovered from that then he invited Laura and her kids to live at the compound supplying everything they need."

"Damn... I owe him an apology and a thanks" Clint says.
