Bria wouldn't lie. The day they both woke up, her body took a toll. She struggled to get out of bed, between her legs hurt so badly. But she quickly blushed at why her legs hurt that bad... it was an amazing night.
Thel woke up and stretched his arms in the air, obviously showing off his muscles to Bria. She smiled.
He turned and made eye contact with her. "Good morning, my queen."
She blushed even harder, he'd never called her that before. At least what she could remember.
"Actually it's good afternoon." She glanced at her watch. "We slept in, big guy."
Thel sighed and wiped his face with his hand. "Are you doing okay?"
She blushed even harder, pretty soon she was going to explode. "A little sore..." she lied.
Thel chuckled and looked at her body, which she was still naked. "It was a pretty interesting night."
"That it was." She replied as she got a shirt to pull on, but not before to both of their surprises, the door slid open and someone walked in.
It was Tyra.
Bria gasped and Tyra gasped and quickly covered her eyes.
"I am blind." Tyra was frozen and didn't know what to do.
Bria ran and hid behind the bed and quickly shrugged on a shirt.
"Tyra, can we help you?" Thel asked and he began to put on his clothes too.
"Uh, we just had very many questions for you, but it seems like you're busy..." Tyra still kept her eyes closed.
"I will be out at once." Thel stood up after getting dressed, he shot Bria a sweet look followed by a wink and left the room.
Bria stood standing up and brushed some dust off of her clothes. "You can uncover your eyes." She told Tyra.
Tyra took her hands away from her eyes. She shook her head. "I feel awkward."
"That's what you get for not knocking." Bria said.
"So... trying to make little hybrids?" Tyra teased.
"Excuse me?" Bria frowned and looked at her. "Nice try, but you know we can't reproduce." Bria chuckled and left the room, leaving Tyra in confusion.
Some marines couldn't help but notice Bria shifting a lot in her seat. Wow was she sore and uncomfortable? She kept glancing at the master chief. She couldn't read his face since he didn't take his helmet off.
She felt uncomfortable near him. Like he can see right through her. He didn't even know her that well, nor did she know him. But she felt weak near him.
When they finally landed in New York, the first thing Bria noticed was how abandoned it felt. It was empty, with nothing but crows and mangy hounds prowling the streets. At least the rouge covenant wasn't here yet.
Master Chief passed her and glanced back over his shoulder. "You're with me." He said.
"That was the plan." Bria sighed.
"Why don't you have a weapon?" He asked almost in an irritated tone.
Bria pulled out a magnum from the back of her hilt. "I have a magnum."
"That won't protect you from the covenant." He replied.
Seemed to have worked for you. She thought in her head but decided to act on something else.
"Well, good thing I'm my own weapon." She noticed he was about to talk, but she blasted her purple flame right by his head. She was surprised that he didn't flinch.
"Very well." He said and continued on.
She was kind of grumpy that she couldn't be with the arbiter's squad. Instead, she was stuck with a Spartan who had social problems. She wondered how the arbiter was doing. She wondered if she would run into Kyle. She prayed that she wouldn't.
She jumped as a piece of a building fell off almost a block down from them.
"This is it marines." One of the marines said.
Everyone equipped with their weapon, ready to go.
Chief looked up into the sky, and so did Bria. She was confused as a huge gust of wind blew toward them, but no sign of the covenant.
"Didn't they jump?" Bria asked.
"They're not landing here." He looked at her. "Your guess was wrong."
Bria's heart stopped and she cursed. "They're heading straight to Washington. They're not prepared over there."
Chief called back the pelican, but Bria froze. Maybe it's a good thing to stay here? Maybe they will kill Kyle. She pondered. But it was too late to make up her mind when the pelican landed.
"All units report to Washington. Repeat all units report to Washington." She heard one of the Marines say.
She strapped herself in the pelican. Her heart was still racing. She wasn't worried about the enemy... she was worried about having Thel and Kyle in the same area.
She immediately snapped out of her thoughts when the pelican got shot by a rocket. Marines shouted as the whole thing shook. They then crashed not too far from where they just were.
