Bria and Cassie eventually joined the battle that was almost over.
Bria scoffed. She knew it wasn't as bad as it sounded. All they did was flank to Washington. What was their goal here?
Thel saw blood on Bria's shirt and panicked. But he didn't want to approach her with Kyle around. He feared that he would hurt her later on.
With the last elite shot, all of the marines, Sangheili, and Kyles's team met up for a brief meeting.
"That looks like all of them?" The master chief said.
Bria rolled her eyes, but luckily no one noticed.
The master chief walked into the middle of the crowd.
"Anyone mind telling me who shot our pelican down." He asked.
Followed by silence.
"We all could've died. In fact, almost all of our marines died if it wasn't for Bria over there reviving them." He said.
Bria froze and looked up at Kyle. He immediately shot a glare at her. Her heart started to race.
"Could've been a miss fire..." Lydia spoke up.
Kyle pushed her to the side and walked up to the Chief. "Right! Miss fire, it happens all the time. If you would pardon us? I need to take my weapon back home. We have much to do and catch up on."
Bria saw out of the corner of her eye that Thel was going to object. She could feel it. She looked at him and quickly spoke up.
"Yes! I need to go with you, Kyle." She spoke.
"But Bria-" Cassie spoke up, but Bria spoke louder against her.
"There's a lot of battle strategies I need to discuss with you." She laughed nervously.
He raised an eyebrow at her. "Very well. Let's go, team."
Bria looked at Thel and gave him an apologizing look.
But little did he know, that she had a plan.
Back on Kyle's junk ship:
As soon as they landed, the team immediately started to disperse. Bria and Lydia started to as well.
"Aht!" Kyle spoke. "You two are staying with me. Meeting in my office please."
Bria and Lydia slowly looked at each other. They looked at the ground and followed Kyle to his office.
Kyle took a seat on his chair. "Just Bria first." He looked at Lydia. She nodded her head and left the room. Bria was worried about what he would do. If he tried to touch her again, would she stop him this time? She probably would.
He furiously tapped his fingers on a side table. "Pretty disappointed in you." He spoke softly. "Seems like you found a lot about yourself that you shouldn't have."
"I-it was an instinct!" Bria said. "I felt like I could do it, so I tried. No one told me I could do that."
"It's the fact that you're finding stuff out, Bria." He stood up. "What did I tell you about being curious? Ever heard the phrase, curiosity killed the cat?"
Bria shrunk as he loomed over her. He was getting closer and closer.
He began to laugh. "I'm just going to wipe your brain after this." He smiled. "I made Lydia shoot the rocket at you."
Bria's eyes opened wide. "You-"
"Yep! I was going to kill you. You're just such a pest, you know? You can die! I should've left you dead if I knew how you would be in this future."
