The Curse

[Chapter 7 - Stay calm II]

Luz walked into the school cafeteria heading towards the table where Gus and Willow were sitting. She was a few feet away but could still hear their conversation, "Gus have you noticed Luz has been acting a little strange ever since she came back?" Willow whispered to Gus. This made Luz tense. Sitting down she asked, "what are the two of you talking about?" Luz tried to steer the conversation away from her. Gus said what came to mind, "Uh... we were just talking about the beast of the forest! There have been rumors of a huge beast running around at night." "Um yeah! Apparently it's dangerous so it's best to stay away from the forest at night." Willow added. Hearing it made Luz paranoid. "Who's seen me at night? I've been careful haven't I?" Luz's hand started shaking, it was transforming into the wolf's hand.

Amity sat a few tables away with Boscha and Skara. Wanting to just at least Luz from afar she noticed she wasn't looking too good. Eyes widened, "is she ok? She seems to be scared?" "Amity! What are you looking at?" Boscha yelled. Boscha looked in the same direction, "ooh! You're looking at four eyed Willow." She stood up walking towards the three of them. Skara and Amity followed behind.

Once Boscha reached their table she grabbed an apple blood carton pouring it onto Willow's head. "Haha you'll always he half a witch Willow!" Skars gave her a high five as if bullying was something to he proud of. Luz clutched her fists from anger. Amity peeked at Luz noticing her ears were slowly becoming more canine. She gasped, if Luz transformed now everyone would know. Gus stood up, "hey! If you want to bully Willow you have to get through me!" Boscha looked at him with an are you serious face. Grabbing Willows tray she threw it into Gus's face. Laughing even more her eyes became watery along with Skara's. While everyone was distracted Amity grabbed Luz pulling her away from the table. "Luz! You need to calm down! You're transforming!" Luz screamed but Amity quickly put her hand over her mouth. Luz started transforming a little fast from being paranoid. "Is everyone looking at me? Can they see what I'm becoming?" Luz was starting to shake. Amity tried to hug her but was abruptly pushed away by Luz. Terror was all over her face, she ran out of the cafeteria. "Luz!" Amity ran after her.

Boscha walked away wiping away tears from laughter. Skara did so as well. Cleaning themselves up they noticed Luz was gone. "Hey do you know what happened to Luz?" Willow said while using napkins to try and clean herself up. "I can't see anything..." Gus replied while cleaning out food from his eye area. Grabbing Gus's hand she dragged him to the outside of boys bathroom pushing him in. "Here clean yourself up. I'll do the same. Meet back at our lockers!"

It was impossible to catch up to Luz, she was too fast. Amity was out of breathe, "where did she go? Luz!" Worried she kept looking for her throughout the hallways.

Running to a janitors closet Luz locked herself in. The potions effects have worn off not from the time limit but from her anger and paranoia. Trying to resist the urge to transform and lose consciousness was hard and painful. "N-no! I can't transform here! Not no-" all that came out was growling. It was another painful transformation, the colorful parts of her uniform were ripped to shreds from Luz's wolf form being too big. The black parts of the uniform were holding on which was good.

Willow made it to their lockers before Gus did. It wasn't long before he showed up. "Let's look for Luz and Amity." Willow said. A door from the next hallway seemed to be knocked down flying to the wall causing a loud crash. Gus looked in the direction of the noise, "Willow did you hear that?" "Yeah... let's check it out." Slowly they both walked towards the noise. Peeking around the corner they saw a huge beast. Willow gasped causing the beast to turn to where they were hiding. The wolf didn't want them, it wanted the red haired witch. It felt angered towards the witch. Running past them to the cafeteria Luz knocked down the two metal doors with ease. It went silent in a flash, kids stared at the main entrance. "The beast is real! Run!" A voice yelled warning the other students. This caused the whole cafeteria to panic. Kids started running towards the emergency exit, a few froze in fear of the beast. The wolf looked for the witch, spotting her looking in awe she pinned her down to the floor. Boscha hit her head causing her to scream from fear. Roaring in her face students stopped running. They didn't dare move, they didn't want to be attacked. Boscha tried drawing a spell circle in the air to try to get the beast off her but this only made Luz angrier. Luz scratched her face preventing the circle to be completed and causing Boscha a huge amount of pain. Skara left her friend behind to run for her life.

Bursting in the cafeteria it was Willow and Gus. Shocked at what the beast had done Willow summoned vines from the ground with thorns. "Gus! Make sure you get everyone out of here!" Gus immediately took action, making an illusion that male Boscha and everyone else disappear. Confused the beast looked around only finding the two witches. Growling it was ready to attack.

Skara kept running looking back to ensure the beast wasn't following. She ran into Amity causing the both of them to fall to the ground. "Hey watch it! Oh-" Amity was surprised to see Skara by herself without Boscha. Skara was frantic, "get out of here Amity! There's a beast attacking the school!" Amity's heart dropped. Before she could ask anymore questions a loud roar could be heard, the halls made it echo. Skara ran off in the opposite direction from fear. Amity ran towards it.

Gus's illusion wore off by now yet everyone had escaped by not wanting to be caught up in the fight. Making another illusion he summoned the emperors coven gaurds. Clawing at the guards they were defeated in no time. Willow's vines easily overwhelmed the beast causing cuts all over it's body. Fighting back the beast was able to rip some apart. It wasn't going to be easy for either of them. Summoning more vines and guards the beast evaded all of them. It was aiming for the girl with glasses. Scratching Willows arm it went numb dropping to her side. She screamed from pain. Gus summoned an illusion to distract the beast while he helped Willow. Amity ran into the cafeteria, "No!" The beast turned to see where the voice came from, it remembered the green haired witch a tiny bit.
Letting out a bark the beast ran towards Amity. She back up closing her eyes preparing from impact. Amity wasn't sure if she Luz was in control. She didn't feel anything, she only heard a roar then a whimper coming from Luz. Willow took the opportunity to hurt the beast with her best shot. Luz's lower left back had a huge wound on it. Amity didn't know what to do. Willow and Gus ran up to Amity grabbing her by her arms dragging her away from the beast. "Come on!" Gus yelled. "Wait no!" Amity didn't have a chance to explain before they were out the door.

It was only an hour before each student was ordered to go home after the incident. Of course Willow was treated for her wounds while Gus only got out with minor injuries. Willow and Gus, talked over the crystal ball. "What happened to the beast? Did they say anything?" Willow asked. "They have no clue. It got away before they could catch it." Gus answered. "Hopefully Luz and Amity are okay. Amity was really shaken up after this whole thing..." Willow said as she looked out her window.

Amity couldn't stop worrying, "is Luz okay? Is Willow ok? Where is Luz? Does everyone know it's her?" Sitting up she realized she must be at the owl lady's house. She couldn't just walk out since she was still grounded. Even if her parents weren't home the twins would surely ruin her plans. Amity walked over to her window opening it to check if she could jump. "It's so high up..." Looking back she scanned her room to see if anything could be of use. "The bedsheet!" Pulling off the sheet turing it into a rope she securely tied it to her desk leg. Throwing it out the window it was a few feet too short, "the bushes wer below should soften my landing." Climbing down she knew if her parents found out she'd be in even bigger trouble. They still haven't let go of the last incident. It didn't matter if she got in trouble, her friend was in danger and she needed help. She as fast as she could to the owl house.

Knocking frantically on the door Eda swung it open, "what!" Surprised to see the blight girl she changed her tone. "Sorry Luz isn't here at the moment. Or should I say your girlfriend?" Amity was shocked and turned red, "wait what? Wait that's not why I'm here! Well kind of... Luz is in trouble!" Eda's face went white. She grabbed Amity by the shirt pulling her into the house. Eda sat her down on the couch, "explain." As Amity explained Eda only grew more worried, she knew this would happen. "Come on kid, we need to look for Luz. Who knows what happened to her." King decided to stay in case Luz showed up at the house. "Please be alright kid..." Eda whispered under her breath. Using her staff Eda searched from the sky while Amity searched on foot through the forest. It was going to be a long day.
