The Curse

[Chapter 18 - Freedom]

It was quiet, the only thing Luz could hear was her heavy breathing and footsteps. Luz stopped, rumbling could be heard, covering Amity as much as she can she prepared for impact. A door a few feet away flew across the hall, Eda stepped out coughing from the smoke. Despite her losing her powers she's been improving; getting creative with how to use glyphs. "Eda! Amity needs help!" Eda's eyes widened, "set her down quickly!" Luz obeyed. Eda began to dig into her hair looking for the right object. "Got it!" Pulling out a blue potion she popped the top off. Before Eda had the chance to pour the potion into Amity's mouth it was knocked out of her hand by abomination goo. Luz looked up to see a half broken abomaton still aiming. Attacking it with her glyphs she was able to destroy it easily. Eda went to reach for the potion yet most of it spilled onto the floor. Using what was left she poured it into Amity's mouth. Luz came back to the two of them, "did it work? Is she waking up?" Eda didn't answer, she was concentrating on what to do next, now grabbing a first aid kit she started to bandage Amity's wounds. Before Eda didn't bother carrying one around but once she realized Luz got into a lot of mischief she carried one just in case. "Remember kid, magic can only do so much. It can only help speed up the healing process. Besides, the abomination spilled most of the potion." Luz hated the sound of that yet couldn't do much except hope for Amity to pull through. "That should stop the bleeding for now, come on let's get out of here before her parents show up." Luz looked back where she came from, "I need to do something, meet me outside." As Eda was about to protest Luz was already gone. Eda sighed picking the Blight up.

As Eda waited she was curious to what Luz was going go do. A few minutes went by, no sign of Luz. Deciding she needed help she was about to set Amity down. Luz jumped out landing on her face, an explosion could be heard right after. Eda starred in shock. Luz got up dusting herself off, "I didn't want their inventions hurting any more people. I couldn't find her parents though." Eda kept her eyes on the building, "my apprentice has learned well." Wiping away a tear she signaled to get on the staff. As they flew away Luz looked back one more time wanting to forget what happened there.

Once they landed in front of the house Hooty could tell that now wasn't the time to make jokes. Opening the door Eda thanked him. Setting Amity down on the couch Eda got more bandages from the supply closet since her wounds reopened again. Once she finished up Amity she called for Luz who was getting a blanket and pillow for Amity. "Come here kid, I need to bandage you up too." Eda sighed, she knew everything was a mess. Since Luz wasn't too badly injured she didn't need as many bandages yet she was still roughed up. Especially her legs, it seemed the orical spirits did more damage than she expected. Eda was sure that Amity was alive yet just in a coma like state. She was breathing and had a pulse. "She should wake up soon hopefully. She just needs a lot of time to recover." Luz didn't move from Amity's side, hearing what Eda said made her even more concerned. Eda could read Luz like a book, rubbing her head she reassured her that it'll be ok. "I'm going to make some food for all of us." Luz didn't bother looking in her direction, her eyes stayed on the green haired witch that was unconscious. Sighing Eda called down King hoping he could distract Luz. King making a dramatic entrance    demanding all the attention from Luz as well as food. King ran up to Luz who gladly accepted his affection. "Did you miss me King?" Luz said while scratching his belly. "King pushed her hand away crossing his arms, "the King of demons misses no one!" Luz laughed, she knew he wasn't serious. As Eda made food she told Luz that King would watch over Amity while she gets cleaned up. After all she was covering in dirt and grime. Luz was very hesitant yet Eda got the broom to encourage her to go. Luz got back she could see King sitting on the arm on the couch writing something. "Whatcha writing King?" King didn't look up yet continued to write, "a bill for sleeping on my napping area." Ripping it off he jumped down onto the floor to put it onto Amity's chest. Luz laughed at this, King and Amity didn't get along well at first since she destroyed his cupcake offering. Luz went back to sitting on the floor next to the couch waiting for Amity to wake up.

"Foods ready!" Eda yelled from the kitchen, King was the first to enter wanting to feast upon delicious food. Eda called for Luz, peekng around the door Luz didn't budge. Sighing she knew she wouldn't move. Heading back into the kitchen she prepared to bring food to Luz.
