Chapter 9

(Chris p.o.v) -2 weeks later-

-Luckily nothing has happened since my last encounter.....-

-I catch her glare from time time but most of the time I remain emotionless and don't speak to anyone-

-Some of them tried to get answers out of me but I didn't speak at all-

"It was all my fault I should've just shut my mouth...."

*CRACK, CRACK, CRACK*

-Letting out a sigh I wipe my forehead but remain small to not draw attention-

-Focusing at the task at hand I raise my pickaxe but a man grabs my shoulder leaning in-

Lazarevic:"Meet us down the incline shaft in one minute" -The Russian says before patting my shoulder and walking away-

-Letting out another sigh I swing my pickaxe down a couple of times-

*CRACK, CRACK, CRACK*

-Placing the pickaxe against the wall I grab the debris before carrying it the nearest ore cart-

-Loading the heavy rock inside a Guard shouts my name-

Guard:"DL109!, assist the men near shaft three!" -A guard loudly announces-

-Nodding my head I began walking over only to see Raz, Lazarevic and the rest of his friends standing out of sight-

Raz:"You're here?..., good..." -Raz says standing up from the wall-

-Lazarevic crosses his arms looking at me-

Lazarevic:"We have a plan...." - The Russian says-

-I silently glance at the rest of them-

Raz:"I don't know about you Chris..., but I don't feel like dying in this god forsaken place..." -Raz narrows his eyes at me-

-I slowly nod my head not keeping eye contact with him-

-Being still shaken up by yesterday...., I've kept to myself...-

Lazarevic:"Large scale riot..., we rally the men.., we escape..." -The Russian nods his head smirking-

Raz:"We've got one problem though..." -Raz grumbles-

???:"Kez...." -A foreign man spits with hatred-

Lazarevic:"That slimey little cock sucker is in with the Guards..." -Lazarevic shakes his head-

-I let out a sigh-

Raz:"I'm sure you know what I'm about to ask..." -Raz tilts his head-

Chris:"Uh..., n-no?" -I smile weakly-

-He looks me up and down for a moment-

Raz:"That Guard..., the one you know.., maybe she can be of use to us...." -Raz says tapping his head-

-I froze up for a moment on the verge of tears at the very mention of the Anthro-

-The men took notice of this as Lazarevic leaned over looking concerned-

Lazarevic:"Uh?...., everything alright?" -The Russian presses-

Raz:"Seems like ya seen a ghost?" -Raz also asks-

Chris:"Y-ya..., I'm fine..., j-just hungry is all...." -I once again pull a fake smile-

Raz:"Al-right...., so ya..., the Guard, she may have sets of keys we will want...." -Raz says-
