Chapter 21

(Lara p.o.v) -An hour later-

-After a quick half an hour session in the gym with Amber we parted ways heading off to do other things-

-Amber was going to go talk with some of her friends about God knows what-

-Remembering what Mika said earlier..., I had other plans....-

-Getting to the prison wing of the base I cautiously look around-

-Not because I would get in trouble or anything..., simply because I didn't want my squad mates seeing me-

-I didn't entirely share their views..., sure I didn't like Humans..-

-But Chris wasn't like your average human..., he was different....-

-After getting access past the security check I make my way to the humans designated cell-

"Cell 0-7"

-Stopping outside I take a deep breath swiping my card on the device, the door opens with an audible click-

-Slowly pushing it open I see a black silhouette spring off the bed to their feet-

-Stepping inside the cell I look around getting a look at the interior-

-But my eyes soon landed on tbr human with his back to the wall, his dark silhouette within the cell was revealed by the two glowing purple pupils-

-They had an eye catching colour..., that's for sure....-

-I could see that he had his clothes replaced with that old shaggy prison uniform to much cleaner looking military attire-

-Chris didn't seem to happy at my presence..., a nervous look was on his face with an alert stance-

-Almost as if he was waiting to be attacked...-

-Letting out a sigh I shut the cell door behind me before stepping further in, my ears perked up as I step on something-

*Squelch*

-Quickly removing my foot I was surprised to find Chris's meal on the floor-

Lara:"Uhhh?.." -I give the human a questioning look before rubbing the sole of my boot against the floor trying to clean them-

-He remained deathly silent his breathing escalated-

-It quickly clicked with me....-

-Staring at the mush on the floor I speak up-

Lara:"Im gonna throw a wild guess and say that was Mika...." -I shoot him a questioning glance-

Chris:"Why are you here?, did Chloe send you?" -He sternly asks-

-His body language held caution and a slight fear-

Lara:"No..." -I respond taking careful steps towards him-

-His face twisted and eyes widened as he took a step back-

Chris:"T-then why are you here?" -He attampted to hold some confidence-

-A small smirk formed on my face-

Lara:"I'm asking myself the same question right now...." -I chuckle trying to lighten the mood-

-His demeanour went in unwavered-

Chris:"D-don't come any closer...." -He warned still holding fear-
