Thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes last chapter, I really appreciated all of them!

Thank you for 17k views!

Also, if there is a certain POV you guys enjoy more, feel free to tell me here. I think the 3rd person POV allows me to explain more of the details in the scenes and the character POV's let me show what the character is feeling more. If you prefer a mix, that could be an option too.

I hope that was easy to understand because of my broken English, I'm writing this at 4am in the morning. We stan broken sleep schedules 😩✋

Enjoy!

Author's POV:

Since he was a kid, he was never able to sleep, always fearing his father everytime he even tried to shut his eyes.

The night he finally escaped his father was the same night as when Ganyu took him in. He never did tell Ganyu about the horrific experiences from his father.

It was a cold, chilly evening, still a bit early into the winter but nonetheless, very cold for the 10 year old.

The small boy ran throughout the house, dodging the many items and furniture pieces that were tossed and shoved behind him as he tried to escaped the large man that was chasing him.

This man was also known as his father. But, he was no where near what a father was supposed to be.

The man stumbled throughout the house, chasing down the small, frightened dark haired boy as his father clenched a wine bottle in his hand and a cigarette tightly held between his chapped lips. He was so far from sober that he could barely even run, let alone chase his son.

As the drunk man stumbled through the house, he tripped on one of the many thrown over chairs on the ground, the glass bottle shattering on the ground. The shards flying throughout the large living room, a couple shards of glass piercing the skin of the young boy who had fallen onto the hard floor in front of his father.

The taller man glared at the small, dark blues haired boy who was shivering. "You... get out of my sight you disgusting rat!" He ran at the boy, picking him up by his hair and slamming him onto the wall.

Blood dripped from the dark haired boy's head as he slowly slid down the wall, slumping down onto the ground, his whole body shaking.

His father stared at him with pure disgust before stumbling over to the counter and reaching over to another bottle of booze.

As Xiao's golden eyes saw what his father was about to grab, a sudden force got the small bot to stand up and bolt out of the back door.

The thick snow covering the ground was freezing, especially to his bare feet. He had nothing but blue shorts and a black short sleeved shirt in as the cold begun to envelope him in a thin layer of frost.

He ran and ran, trying to get as far away as he could from his so called 'father'.

The only thing he could recall of his mother was the day she left. 6 years ago. On his fourth birthday.

She enveloped the boy in a warm embrace, whispering the words "I'll be back Xiao... okay? I love you..."
