What's this feeling || Xiao x Aether

So This Is What You Must've Felt

Sorry for the late chapter! Once it's summer break, I'll be posting a lot more often.
Also, this isn't edited yet. Beware for mistakes.

Aether's POV:

This is how it must've felt. This exact feeling. It was the same for you huh? I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

Although those were the thoughts that were in the back of my mind, the ones clouding the front of it were terrible. Albedo and Xiao... are they together..?

3rd Person POV:

"I... I should leave you guys alone here... ahaha! Sorry for my intrusion..! Bye! Have fun..!" Aether said quickly as he bolted out of the dorm room.

Albedo watched as Aether ran away, a smirk playing on his lips. "Finally. I'll have him off my tail and I can have you all to myself..."

The darker haired boy could hardly contain his anger as he grabbed Albedo's shirt roughly. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"

Albedo smiled lightly at the boy in front of him, paying no mind to his facial expression nor the pissed off tone in his voice.

"I was simply getting that rat off my case. It's better than directly telling him I don't return his feelings, right?" The ashy blonde haired boy asked, resting his hand onto the one gripping his collar.

"You..." The dark blue haired boy threw Albedo onto the floor, glaring at him with infuriated eyes. "You knew about his feelings and did this just to hurt him?!"

Albedo responded with a calm tone, "of course not! I took this opportunity to confess to you and tell Aether off."

This only made Xiao even angrier, towering over Albedo who was still on the floor. "Listen here you son of a bitch, I hate your guts. Don't come near Aether ever again, do I make myself clear?"

"Well-"

Xiao slapped Albedo across the face. "Shut your dirty mouth."

"Oi, what are you two doing? Why'd the blondie just run out of here crying?"

Xiao snapped his head to the sudden voice at the door. It was Childe.

"...he what..?"

"He ran out of here crying. Also, why are you towering over him like that?"

Xiao, glared back down at Albedo. "You fucking made him cry you bastard..."

Albedo smiled. "Great! I think the point got across then!"

Xiao almost smashed Albedo's head against the floor but was then pulled back by the ginger haired boy. "Hey hey! Calm down there!"

"Let me go!" Xiao growled angrily as he fought against Childe's grip. Albedo stood up from the floor, dusting off his clothing and glancing back up at Xiao. "I'll wait for your official response at the dorms. Bye Xiao" He waved goodbye then exited the room.

Xiao smacked Childe away from him, chasing down Albedo who had already disappeared.

He then set his mind on another thing. Find Aether. If what Childe said was true, he was crying. And to top it off, it was his own fault.

(Switch to where Aether ran off to)

Aether sped down the long halls of the building, using his hands to wipe away the tears that were falling down from his eyes. He finally arrived at a dorm door, resting against it. He couldn't think straight, how did this make sense?

The blonde haired boy sank to the ground, covering his head with his arms.

"Aether? Oh my god, what happened?" The blonde heard the familiar voice call from behind him as the door was opened. It was Venti.

Venti quickly pulled Aether into his dorm, resting him onto the plush, blue couch. They sat in silence for a few minutes, Aether staring down at his hands in his lap which were gripping harshly onto his pants and Venti sat beside him.

Finally, the silence was broken by Venti's voice. "Aether... what happened..?"

Aether remained silent as he attempted to hold back his tears.

Venti let out a small sigh then walked in front of him, wrapping his small arms around his blonde best friend. "You don't have to tell me... it's alright. I'm here to comfort you, okay?" He said in a small, sweet voice.

This caused Aether to finally crack, his tears flowing continuously as he cried into his best friend's arms. "I-..." Aether attempted to start but choked on his own words, his tears continuing to fall. They seemed almost endless. "Shh... it's okay..."

After a few minutes, Venti eventually pulled away from his friend. Staring at him with a small smile on his lips.

"Heh, how many times have my hugs helped you now?"

This made Aether laugh slightly. The first time that pair had ever talked was at the park near his house when they were only kids. Aether had tripped onto the ground, a big scrape appearing on his knee as he sat up from the ground. Venti was watching him and went to hug him and sing him a sweet song,

"Pain pain, go away, come back another day! Wait... we don't want you to ever come back actually!" The little braided hair boy exclaimed.

Although they were still strangers at that time, their hug felt comforting and warm, just like this one.

"So," Venti began. "...why were you crying Aether?"

Aether opened his mouth to speak but then hesitated. What if Venti thought he was simply overreacting? He definitely thought he was, so why wouldn't Venti?

After a couple moments of contemplating, Aether finally decided to tell his friend. They were best friends for a reason.

Aether took a deep breath in, finally letting out the words he was holding in:

"...Albedo and Xiao..."

He paused for a second, continuing after Venti had motioned for him to keep going.

"...they like each other..."
