Aether POV:

I swiftly swung my head to the other side, avoiding the long eye contact that could've happened between Xiao and I. Was I really prepared to face him after what he said to me yesterday.

I swiftly made my way in between the various people in the crowded halls, attempting to reach the stairwell to my classroom. Once I finally found my way to the stairwell, I felt a strong force hit my right shoulder, causing me to stumble forward and lose my balance.

"Watch where you're going kid"

I felt a tight grip take hold of my wrist, pulling me upwards and stabling me.

"It's you that needs to watch where you're going."

I glanced up at the person that had grabbed me, only to be met by the same dark haired male I passed by a couple of minutes ago.

"Tsk. Pesky brats."

That's Mr. Wagner for you. Always in a foul mood.

I let out a sigh, maybe he'd force me to run extra laps later. I shook my head, removing those thoughts from my head and focusing on the boy next to me, giving him a grateful smile.

"Thanks for that, Xiao"

He quickly removed his hand from my wrist then folded his arms over one another.

"You shouldn't be thanking me. There's nothing to thank me for"

His eyes seemed as cold as they always were, yet, beneath those cold barriers, they are really protecting something fragile weren't they?

"Well, I am. Thanks for not letting me fall"

He stared at me for a few seconds before sighing in dismay.

"We should head to class now"

I nodded in agreement, following Xiao up the stairs and to our classroom, class 1-B.

One we entered, most of my other classmates were already at their seats. Xiao and I left to go to our own assigned seats. At the front of the classroom, the principal, Mrs. Ningguang was standing there along with her assistant, Beidou. They didn't usually come to our class unless she was lecturing the students about behavioural issues or ranting on about how students shouldn't be permitted to show much affection or romance at school. Of course, most of the school already knew about Mrs. Ningguang and Beidou. They're really bad at keeping it a secret.

Once the rest of the students gathered into the class, Mrs. Ningguang finally spoke up,

"Hello students. I'm here to inform you that from now on you will be living in dorms. These dorms will consist of 2 to 3 people each. Of course, there'll be no mixing of genders in any dorms. We have already explained to your parents and your guardians about this new switch, and that it's not optional. You'll be shown to your dorm rooms and meet your new dorm mates soon. You'll have a chance to pack all you need tonight. Any questions? Good. Have a good day"

And with that, she left, rapidly making her way to the next room, leaving Beidou scrambling after her.

"Well class, I will show you each to your assigned dorms today. Follow me"

We all stood up and followed our teacher to the dorm buildings, not too far away from the school. I was pretty nervous about who I'd be sharing a room with. I wasn't too great at making new friend with people I'd say.

Once we got to the large buildings, our teacher directed us to ours.

"This is your dormitory. You'll be sharing with class 1-A. If I hear any bickering between you students, I'll punch you. You each have a ticket to keep that'll take you to your room. Have fun"

As the teacher finished talking, I ran over to the place to get my ticket, checking my number.

Dorm 16

I made my way to the entrance of the large dorm building, pushing open the large glass doors. Inside, the place was decorated in many red and blue decor, long silk banner hanging in between the pillars. There were many blood red comfort couches around the place, a small tv hanging on one of the walls. Was this seriously a high school dormitory?

Suddenly, I felt a hand grab onto my shoulder,

"It's nice isn't it Aether?" Venti appeared behind me with a large smile plastered on his face. I sighed in relief.

"You scared me Venti"

"Oh I know~ that was the point!"

I shot him a glare, him returning it with a small giggle.

"Lumine's in your class right? Where is she?"

"Ehe, well~ let's just say she got caught up, shall we?"

I stare at him, confused and slightly concerned.

"Venti, wha-"

He slapped his hand over my mouth, muffling my voice.

"Haha! It's nothing it's nothing, dear Aether! Let's go find our dorms shall we? Which number is yours?"

I smacked his hand away from my mouth then flicked his forehead. "16, you?"

His face turned into clear disappointment then he leaned onto my shoulder, "How unfortunate! We're not in the same dorm. Mine is number 18."

"I can't say if I'm glad about that or not"

Venti glared at me then smirked, "Is that so? Guess I'll just have to raid your dorm sometime then huh?"

I smiled then shook my head. Typical Venti. He abruptly took hold of my arm then sprinted over to the stairs, climbing up them and looking around at the dorm numbers.

"Number 16... number 16... aha! Here here, this is yours!"

Venti pushed me to the front of the wooden door, waiting for me to open it. I sighed, opening the door to my room slowly.

I walked into the short hallway, Venti right behind me. Once we got to the main room, I looked around at the place in awe. It was beautiful.

Once I glanced at the corner, my eyes locked onto a familiar male sitting in a blood red chair.
