Xiao POV:

I woke up to possibly the worst headache I've had in a long time. Not only did my head hurt, but my body hurt as well. I let out a long sigh as I stared up at the ceiling, replaying the events of last night in my head. All I could remember was getting into a fight with some of the guys at the bar. What a bunch of fucking idiots. I closed my eyes and tried to calm my mind, still trying to fight off this awful headache of mine. Once I finally decided to sit up, I felt a sharp pain in my spine. Was it broken or something? Once I turned my head to my right I saw Ganyu sitting there, her eyes shut and her breathing calm. She was asleep but, why was she waiting here?

I stepped out of the sheets, careful not to make much noise to wake Ganyu. Once I finally stood on both my feet, I felt my legs were shaking. I touched my right cheek, sensing a familiar warmth from last night... what was it? I was passed out so I'm guessing it was just Ganyu. I kept taking small steps towards the door, keeping my right arm on the wall for support.

Once I opened my door, I heard some rustling from behind me. I carefully turned my head around to see Ganyu, her face tense and her nose scrunched. Her eyes fluttered open and locked onto my bed. She stared at it for what seemed to be at least 10 seconds before her eyes widened in a state of panic.

"XIAO?!"

I sighed and decided to speak.

"Right here..." My voice came out hoarse, barely comprehensible. I watched as the panicked girl twirled her head around, her eyes calming down once she saw me, only to go back to their widened state as they saw my condition.

"Oh my goodness, why are you walking?! Go rest! You need rest!" She ran over to me and took my left arm, swinging it around my shoulder as she put her other hand on my waist, helping me stand easier.

"I'm fine..."

"No you're not! Here, let's go get you some water..."

She guided me to the stairs, carefully helping me down them. She immediately took her same position by my side once we got to the end of the stairs, making our way to the kitchen. She sat me down on one of the chairs in the kitchen as she went over to the sink, filling a cup with water and handing it to me. She then sat herself down on the seat opposite to mine.

I picked up the small cup, my hand shaking from the weakness of my arm right now. I raised it to my mouth, immediately drinking every last drop once I noticed how thirsty I was.

"Aether helped bring you back here last night. He saw our car and came to say hi"

I almost spat out my drink, although, I wouldn't say choking on it was any better. Aether? Why? Why wasn't he at his house?

"A-Aether?" My voice sounded slightly better, still not much better. Ganyu nodded.

"He helped me patch you up. I noticed he was completely drenched and offered him some spare clothes, in which he declined... turns out he has a cold and is resting at home for now"

The grip on my cup grew stronger as she said that last part. He was sick... because of me? God fucking damn it. He spent all that time worrying about helping me without thinking about himself. Selfless brat. Think about yourself sometimes...

"I'm going to check on him."

"In your current condition Xiao? Are you serious? You could barely make it down the stairs let alone a street."

I groaned. I didn't care if my injuries worsened. I just wanted to see Aether.

"I can drive us there if you'd like"

My head shot up, instantly looking over at Ganyu and nodding. She smiled softly at me before letting out a small giggle.

"Oh, young love. Go get changed then we can go."

Ganyu came back to my side, lifting me off the chair and making our way back up the stairs. She set me down on my bed and went over to my closet, tossing me clothes to wear and leaving my room afterwards.

After I got changed, I glanced over at my phone on my nightstand. I reached over, feeling a slight pain in my shoulder, shrugging it off afterwards. I unlocked my phone and opened the messages between Aether and I. I contemplated for a while, thinking of what to say before sending a quick, simple text:

Today at 9:48am:

Me:
Ganyu and I are coming over now. See you in a bit

I stared at my text for a few seconds before noticing the three dots in the corner, showing that he was typing. Even just a single text made my heart beat 11 times faster. How stupid.

Today at 9:49am:

Aether:
Sounds good, see you soon :)

I smiled slightly, staring at the small text message for a moment before shutting my phone. I stuffed it into the pocket of my hoodie and stood up, instantly regretting how fast I stood once I felt the pain in my ankle. Just how bad was that fight?

I gripped onto the wall for support, making my through the hallway and down the stairs. I spotted Ganyu on the couch then went towards the front door. She turned her head towards me and stood up.

"Ready to go?"

I nodded and she walked over to me, flashing her sweet smile. I ruffled up her hair a bit, her eyes squinting and her nose scrunching when I did.

"Don't ruin my hair Xiao!"

I chuckled, removing my hand from her head and opening the door, waiting for Ganyu to support me. She took my arm and helped my walk to the car. Once she helped me into my seat, she hopped into her own and started the car.

She looked over at me "Don't go rushing into their house searching for Aether. Lumine might think you're crazy. Also, don't injure yourself more. Be careful"

I sighed, she always had to give me a mini speech before we went anywhere didn't she? I turned my head towards the window and rested my head onto my hand.

"Yeah"

This was a pretty boring chapter tbh. It's 1am and I'm pretty tired so sorry if it's bad. I'll try to make an extra chapter this week or next week to compensate :)

Stay safe!
