KHR x Genshin Impact

It is rare but people can awaken to their dying will flames, a power inherently bound to their soul and determination. There are more than 10 types in total, belonging to the earth and sky sets, consisting of 7, and the singularity of Night flames.

While rare, everyone has them and realises them in dire events, say.. near-death experience or lethal dose of stress. Mafioso, Bratva, Yakuza, Triad and the whole underworld of earth covet those people once awakened and bring them down to their world, into Famiglia's with or without their consent. For good reason as the existence of DWF is an exclusive secret to the Mafia and violations are heavily vindicated.

As such the existence of dying will flames is, simply put, not knowledge of the public.

Instead, another power is held in higher regard and even more so rarity: Visions. Gems that grant special abilities belonging to seven elements. The elements of wind, fire, earth, plant, ice, water and electricity.

Peculiarly, those who came to gain any such Vision, as they call the power-giving gem, speak of another life and world called Teyvat, a world of gods.

Considering the amount of testimonies, matching accounts of history and experiences, those awakened with Visions even recognising another holder under a different name, the world came to one conclusion.
A conclusion to a previously disbelieved theorem: Reincarnation.

Those Reincarnations, travellers from another realm, are subjected to newly implemented regulations for them. For one, their ID is updated to also show their old name, nationality and Vision. They are under government employment, or at least in contact for information, monitoring and requests. If they wish to utilize their Vision it's under law that it must be proven self-defense or they have army protection for it.
A rare few managed to use them for entertainment purposes, like Hydro vision at Amusements Park, Dendro Vision for gardening, Electro in medical (however that works), Pyro in welding or fireworks, etc.

They respond to either given name and tend to, upon receiving their Vision, change a little in appearance when utilising it. Examples of those changes is one such man from the region of "Mondstadt" with the name "Diluc". He works in Special Military Ops and when at work adapts the look his Pyro Vision gives him when active: His eyes burn red as his hair elongates into a fiery ponytail, his voice gaining an echo.

To encounter a Vision wielder is rare, as nobody knows what causes them to 'gain' Visions and remember in the first place. Although there are odd theories strewn about the internet and research field.
A popular theory is linked to the unawakened Vision-Holder experiencing a strong deja Vu from their previous life, perhaps when they gained their Vision then as well. So to say, re-fitting the same requirements.

Verde is one such supporter of the theory. Reason being that he himself has a Vision, ironically it's Dendro, meaning green, like his element of Lightning.

As for his otherworldly name, well, he was called The Doctor.
Dottore, one of Shneznaya's Harbingers. Upon regaining his memories at the age of 8, he's cut off contact from any of his new family, apathetic to them, and began exploring this world and its resources for his Research. The discovery of dying will flames were such a fascinating concept to him, including the mafia, it was no wonder he ended up with them.
The mafia also has its fair share of Vision-Holders besides him, although the majority of them, being goody two-shoes originally, remained in the public eye of their government.

Besides him he's already met the warmonger of his old group, Tartaglia, again. He was introduced to him as his current colleague Colonello, who also has the Rain element to compliment his Vision. He's still questioning if the other thinks Lal is that odd blond Traveler he pursued.
