My eyes fluttered open to meet unfamilar surroundings in an unfamilar room in a unfamilar bed. It wasn't until I heard voices down in the hall in the kitchen that I realized where I was, and why I was here.
Liam had came and saved me from the hell hole that is the castle. I was no longer part of the kingdom, for the moment, which means I wouldn't have to do chores, and I wouldn't have to listen to all the guards, my servants, or my mother constantly pestering me about the wedding. I could go outside in the sunshine, and not have to sign where I was going at all times. More importantly, I wasn't stuck on that damned island.
And I was near Liam..
With a smile plastered on my face at the thought, I peeled the sheets back away from my body, and stood up, adjusting my messy sweatpants that I had borrowed from Eleanor, and the t-shirt I had worn all day yesterday. Using the hairtie on my wrist, I quickly threw my messy blonde hair up into a sloppy ponytail, before yanking open the door with my hand, and cautiously creeping out into the short hallway.
I could hear Louis and Eleanor talking loudly in the general direction of the kitchen. It sounded like they were playfully arguing, and Eleanor's giggles could be heard over the top of most of the conversation. Biting my lip, ignoring the flush that crept onto my cheeks, I stalked slowly into the kitchen, leaning against the door frame and watching the two.
Eleanor was already dressed for a day out, in one of her signature outfits, only without any shoes on as she crept backwards around the side of the counter, grinning wickedly at Louis. He was standing on the other side of the counter, holding up a pancake batter covered spoon, his brunette hair still touseled from sleep, pajamas still on.
"Come closer, and I will fling this at you," Louis warned seriously, but with a hint of playfulness still in the back of his tone. He dipped the spoon back into a bowl behind him and lifted the dripping utensil into the air again, that same wicked smile still on his features.
"You do that and you die," Eleanor retorted, backing slowly away from him, completely on the other side of the counter from him.
"Maybe I'll just do it anyway," He chuckled, before I heard a squeak escape Eleanor's lips. I barely registered her ducking a few feet away from me, before something soft, squishy, and wet was splattered all over the front of my face, slowly dripping downward.
An involuntary gasp left my lips, and I took a couple of steps back, my hands flying up to my face to try and discard the sticky substance away from my skin, but to no avail.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" I registered Louis now at my side, his hands awkwardly reached out as if he wanted to help, but he wasn't exactly sure of what to do to help me. "I meant to hit Eleanor..not you.."
"It's okay," I murmured, flicking away the batter so I could atleast see properly. Sure enough, Louis was now moved to stand in front of me, while Eleanor was standing beside him with a shocked look on her face.
"I think this is a good time to get you cleaned up for the day anyway, because we are going shopping," Eleanor declared, moving from Louis' side to take my arm and pull me back down the hallway. She pushed me into a large bathroom at the end of the hall, leaving the door slightly ajar as she poked her head in to talk to me.
"Now, go take a shower real quick, and I will go find at outfit for you in my closet. Feel free to use my makeup, hair stuff, anything I don't care," Eleanor gushed, smiling brightly at me, before popping back out and shutting the door.
Sucking in a deep sigh, I turned over my shoulder to look. The bathroom was just as big as the one I had in my room back at the castle, and just as nice too, except it was littered with more things. Self-cautiously, I looked around nervously as I stripped myself from my pancake covered clothing, leaving it in a pile in the corner of the room.
