"I am not taking your bed away from you my first night living here."

"You will, and you are. Now get your little butt in there."

"I will not, and I will not get my little ass in there. You get your ass in there."

"Are we really having this conversation?"

I couldn't help but break out into a fit of laughter after minutes of trying to stay serious in the fake arguement with Liam. He was trying to convince me to sleep in his bed and he would take the couch for the night. But I insisted on taking the couch. And I he was not convincing me otherwise.

"Does this mean I win?" Liam asked with a small smile, inspecting my giggling fit with raised and amused eyes.

"No," I choked through my laughter, managing to stand upright and hold my stomach instead. "It doesn't. I'm still sleeping on that damn couch. But that was funny."

"You're cute," Liam mused, reaching forward to poke my nose. "But you're taking the bed."

I glared at him and prepared to shoot back another sarcastic and defiant response, but I was already swept up into the air, and into Liam's arms as he began marching me toward his bedroom. And of course, I couldn't fight back at all. Being five foot didn't really help, especially against a strong man like Liam.

"Let me down!" I pouted, trying to kick him with one of my feet, but my leg wouldn't bend the proper way. When that didn't work, I widened my eyes into the size of bugs, pushing my bottom lip an inch ahead of my top one in a pout. It always worked against my parents, my brothers, and sometimes even Jay.

It almost worked on Liam, as he hesitated for a minute, his brown eyes flicking back and forth between mine before he tore away from my gaze, setting his jaw and shoving open the bedroom door. I let out a squeal of protest as he gently tossed me onto the neatly made bed, and went to move out of the room again before I could plan a careful escape.

I scrambled up to a sitting position, holding out my hand and opening my mouth to mutter a small, "Wait!"

Liam turned, his hand still on the doorknob as his gentle gaze locked with mine. "Yeah? Do you need anything?"

I hesisted, biting my lip and fiddling with my fingers awkwardly as I pulled my legs up to cross them one over another. "There was one solution to this that we never mentioned."

"Hmm?"

My face flushed a bright red color, as I looked beside him for a second at a painting hanging on the wall. I sighed, looking down again and muttering, "We could both sleep in here.."

"What did you say? Sage, babe, you have to speak up. I can't hear you when you mutter."

"I said, we could both sleep in here," I answered, rising my voice higher than I normally talked, partly because of the nerves fluttering around in my stomach, and partly so he could hear me. I flushed again, the heat rising to my cheeks rapidly as I lowered my gaze to my fingers again, murmuring, "You know, if you want."

I heard him chuckle above me, and then his feet shuffle across the floor as the door clicked gently behind him. Two fingers suddenly enclosed gently on my chin and pulled it up so I was face to face with Liam. "Why didn't you just suggest that in the first place?" He murmured, our gentle breaths mingling in the tiny space between us.

"I-I d-don't know, I-" I was cut off from my awkward stuttering by a gentle pair of lips pressing sweetly against mine for a few seconds, before pulling away.

"You're cute when your awkward," Liam laughed, pulling away and walking over to one of the many chest of drawers around the room, tossing a large t-shirt and some gym shorts at me. "Now, change into those, and I'm going to go shower. I'll be back in a few minutes." He turned around, strolling out of the room again, the door fluttering shut gently behind him.
