TBH I like writing in Sage's point of view SO MUCH MORE, but I've started doing this and I suppose I wont' stop until the end of the story xP. sorry, here's the new chapter, enough of my rambling
~"Sage Marie Craft, what the hell do you think you are wearing?"
I whipped around, my hand still lying gently on Sage's hip, to face her fuming mother. She was wearing an extravegant dress that flowed almost a foot away from her legs and all the way to the floor. Her crown was placed lightly on top of her blonde locks, her hair much resembling Sage's. Her small old face had lots of makeup on it, making it seem prettier, but right now, the expression she held wasn't a bit pretty.
It was like smoke was already filing out of her ear canals, and her skin was flushed a brilliant shade of red. Her eyes pierced into mine, then switched to Sage, then back to mine. Like she was accusing me of doing this, when in reality, I wanted her to go change just as much as it seemed she did.
I almost forgot Sage was behind me, before her hands rested lightly on my broad shoulders, and she peaked her head around the side of my arm to face her mother. "Uh, clothes?" She said, smirking sarcastically. If it would have been in any other situation I would have laughed, but right now I had to bite my lip to keep from making her mother further pissed off.
"I know it is clothes, Sage, do not back talk me. The dress is fine, but how do you explain those shoes and socks?" Her face relaxed slightly but the fuming red color didn't leave from her normally pale cheeks. Her fists unclenched, however, which was a good sign no one would get punched in the face.
"Well, you know what happened last time I wore heels mom. I broke my ankle and couldn't attend the state dinner. Not that I cared," She trailed off, recomposing her serious tone at her mom's harsh glare. "and none of my flats really matched this dress. So I put on these socks, because they are comfortable, and these shoes, because I can actually walk in them."
"You could have came to my closet and got some flats," Her mother shot back, narrowing her eyes again, so thin they looked like snake slits. "Or atleast not have worn those horrid, men socks. Your brothers wear those whenever they play sports!"
"Mom, your shoes are two sizes smaller than mine, I've tried your shoes before, and instead of breaking my ankle they broke my toes. And there is nothing wrong with these socks, they match my shoes," Sage defended, one of her hands leaving my shoulder as she pointed down to her shoes. "Well, kind of."
Her mother continued to glare for a moments more, before she took a quick swipe at her wrist were an expensive looking gold watch that sparkled in the little lights in the middle of the dark hallways. "If it wasn't almost time for your father, you, and myself to be at the dinner before our other guests got here, you would be changing. But I guess I'm going to have to let you go. But don't forget, you will apologize to anyone and everyone who asks you about that outfit your sporting."
"Sure, sure mom thanks. Me and Liam will be there in a few minutes," Sage shot me a desperate look, before waving her hand around wildly to her mother. Shooting myself and Sage one final, cold glare, she stalked past us, barely brushing my shoulder as she dead and letting out a small "Hmph!"
As soon as the clicking of her huge heels disappeared down the hallway, followed by the loud slamming of the ballroom door, I turned back to Sage, gazing at her seriously. "Alright, now that we don't have to argue about that ridiculous outfit you are deciding to wear in front of your entire population. What was that thing was Jay in there? You looked like you were about to kill him, and he was about to kill you."
Sage sighed, looking down on the ground and shifting her weight onto her one toe, then back again. "Well, this hasn't been flat out said just yet, but I am pretty damn sure that Jay has, does, and always has liked me. He is basically pissed off because I have decided to go through marrying you, because apperently he thought we were going to run away together and get married without my parents consent. Obviously, he took my intents of stopping this tradition totally wrong."
I eyed her for a moment. "You think that your personal butler has a crush on you? Actually, that seems pretty legitamite. Because, he told me that he has been with you for two straight years. Well, not been with you, but helped you through a lot, correct?"
"Well yeah, but I've never liked him like that. He's always been my butler, and the best friend I never had. I would say brother, but I get plenty from those two idiots anyway," Her eyes seemed to twinkle for a moment, before she repeated, "but I never did think of him like that, and I still don't. But it could be something else, he could be on his man-time-of-the-month. He hasn't ever officially said that he likes me anyway. We can't assume until we know."
"You're right," I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck, but I couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed and jealous. Sage was mine now. Not Jay's. Not anyones. Mine.
Not even a full month before, Liam James Payne, you were crying your eyes out over your girlfriend of two years. How can you be jealous over a girl you, only weeks before, almost hated because she took you away from your old life. My thoughts raced in my mind, almost confusing me completely. All my thoughts were scrambeled, messed up, and I really needed to sit and sort them out.
Then Jay's own words came floating into my mind. You age quickly here. Your thoughts get changed quick, too. It's like this place changes your life completely from any normal persons, even if you have lived here your whole entire life. Look at Sage. She wasn't like this now when she was little. I only know that from stories I've heard.
"Liam, hey, babe, focus with me please," Sage snapped her fingers lightly in front of my face, causing me to blink and take a step back in surprise, breaking me out of my thoughts in a second.
"We need to get into the ballroom for the dinner and stuff before the live broadcast before all the other guests get here. Mom will be expecting us, as will dad. And you better act nice, or dad with ring your neck, Lawerence and Charles helping him." Through the strict tone of her voice, I could see teasing and mischief dancing in her emerald orbs."No worries, ma'lady," I said, grinning brightly at her and holding out my arm. "Shall we?"
"We shall," She answered with a giggle, wrapping her tiny hands around my upper arm and leaning into me for support, her dress brushing against my side as we walked slowly down the hallway toward the large wooden doors in front of us. As my dress shoe covered foot touched the floor right before the door, it swung open in front of us, revealing the extravagent and brightly lit scene in front of us.
Sage tensed next to me almost instantly, and her tiny hands tightened around my arm immediately. Shrugging off her grip, I wrapped my arm around her waist, and did a risky thing. I leaned down to give her a gentle kiss on her forehead, my lips lingering there for a moment as I spoke softly into her ear, "Are you ready to do this?"
"Do I have a choice?" She said shakily, a smirk playing on her lips.
The irony...
