The last of the guests that had previously crowded the large ballroom filed one after another until the only people left in the vacant room where myself, and Sage's family. Servants scurried around quickly to clean all the tables, move away the trash, and place the tables and chairs back into a small storage room near the large kitchen at the side of the room.
Only one thing left tonight to do.
Annouce Sage and ours marriage.
It wasn't really that big of a thing. It would last roughly fifteen minutes, as explained by Sage's father after we danced for a while.
It was pretty simple, really. They would play the kingdom's song, annouce the current reign of the royalty. Then they would annouce Sage's brothers as the next in line for the throne. Then, they would annouce Sage for the same. After all this was done, they would annouce myself. Finally, they would annouce me and Sage's marriage. Ending the whole thing with(with Sage blushing the entire time it was explained) a kiss to seal the deal.
"Are you ready?" Sage's soft voice sounded from beside me, and I turned my head to look down at her.
Her blonde locks were still as perfect as they were before we had come down, her makeup not even in the slightest bit smudged. Her small pink lips opened enough for me to see her charming little tooth that was turned to the side, and her emerald green orbs were tinted with the slightest bit of nervousness. Her voice sounded shaky and scared when she spoke, and she watched me with a careful expression.
To break me out of my staring, she snapped her fingers lightly in front of my face. "Take a picture, Li. It lasts longer," A shaky smirk was on her features, before it dropped, and her mouth parted slightly again as she drew in a shaky inhale. "I'm nervous."
"No need, love," I insisted, wrapping my arm loosely around her waist and pulling her small figure in for a tight hug. "I'll be right there the whole time. You'll be fine."
"Aren't you nervous?" She mumbled against the fabric on my jacket. She pulled her face up slightly to search my face.
"Not really. I get up on stage and perform in front of millions of people. I performed in front of the whole world in the Olympics. It doesn't get to me anymore," But the truth to all of this was that I was extrememly nervous.
First of all, I was annoucing something that would last the rest of my life to a entire kingdom of people. And entire world of people that could videotape it easily, and it could spread. Which brings me to the second thing, fans would find me. For all they knew right now, I had disappeared somewhere for an unknown reason. If they found me, they found the kingdom, and if they found that they would find Sage. And I knew how the fans could be. Sage would get more hate than any other previous girl. Because someone would find out how I was being forced to marry her. And that would cause a huge uproar in the fandom.
"Aren't you guys excited?" Sage's mother ask, bouncing up beside us like she was a teenager again, although she was no where near being one. "I know I am!"
"Honey, calm down," Sage's father sighed with a tiny chuckle, coming to stand beside her as he put an arm on her shoulder to stop her bouncing. "C'mon, we need to head up the the third story balcony where the film crew will be."
"Awe man, I'm going to be cold," Sage whined so I only I could hear her. I laughed loudly, slipping my fingers inbetween the spaces in hers and tangling our fingers together.
"Don't worry, babe, I'll keep you warm," I muttered, tugging on her hand so we fell in step behind her brothers who were currently bickering over something.
"Someone is getting confident, aren't we now?" Sage smirked, turning to look up at me as she skipped along beside me happily. Happier than I had seen her since I arrived.
