Thankfully, my family and Liam and I got our own little table away from the rest of the royal court and elected officials that actually did things within the kingdom. It was a tiny woodan table, a smaller version of the one we had for the family on normal days. All the tables were placed around the edges of the huge ballroom, leaving the middle to be lit up my bright lights, making a dance floor.

The table was split up, if you think about it. I was seated in the middle, with Liam across from me. Charles was sitting beside me with Lawerence across from him, and then father sat by me, with mom across from him. I could tell as we sat there in an awkward silence that my dad was eyeing my legs from under the short table cloth, shaking his head every few seconds in disappointment.

"So," Mom started, trying to start small talk as she absently clinked her perfect fingernails against the fine glass that held her water. "Do you enjoy how it looks, Sage?"

I raised my eyebrows, trying to bite back my sarcastic answer, as I turned in my chair and let my eyes do a sweep of the surrounding. It much reminded me of Cinderalla movie, or Beauty and the Beast. But the thing was, I wasn't excited, and felt all the butterflies that those cartoons probably did. This was just a bother to me. Why don't they put it on of the morning news reports that I was getting married, instead of forcing many innocent people who probably don't care at all to watch the special later after the dinner was ready. Or forcing many important officials away from their job to watch my mom and dad give a speech, officially announcing our marriage. It was all stupid, and un needed in my mind.

But of course, when has my opinion ever mattered.

"It's nice," I admitted. I wasn't going to lie, it looked very cool, and well put together. As did the ballroom, as I had only entered this maybe once or twice. "Thank you, for planning it all. It's very cool."

"Aren't you excited to announce your marriage?" Mom asked, leaning forward on the table and smiling brightly at me. She looked like one of those moms who bought their daughter the ugliest sweater ever, and was asking if they liked it. I had to resist the urge to snort, even though Lawerence and Charles filled that gesture for me.

"Boys," Dad scolded, glaring at them from across the table, which just sent them into a round of loud chuckles. I reached out and slapped Charles hard on the shoulder which made him shut up for a couple seconds, enough for me to get in what I was going to say.

"Yeah, sure," I bit back saying no, not at all just kidding mom, but I was in enough trouble as it was.

Our conversation was cut off by large silver platters being laid out in front of us, piled with steaming fancy foods that I wouldn't even want to try to know the names for. The people who had laid them out disappeared as quickly as they had came and set the food down, disappearing into the darkly lit corners to another filled table.

Everyone sat there for a few moments, just staring at the foods that could barely be seen through the curtain of thick steam. "Well eat up, everyone!" Mom declared, gently using the tongs that had been placed at the end of each platter to pick up some sort of meat that definitely wasn't pork or beef.

Gingerly, I picked some vegetables that I actually knew the names of, along with something that looked faintly similar to miniature hotdogs. With my eyes scanning the table, I gently cut into some of my foods, picking at them in small bites as I watched everyone dig into the foods, even Liam.

"So," Dad started, wiping his face on one of the neatly folded napkins, dabbing the corner of his mouth. "Liam, you haven't been speaking much tonight. Something on your mind?"

"Hm?" Liam asked, his mouth full of one of the meats, a piece of it dropping from his mouth and landing on the plate. Wide-eyed, he chewed the rest of it up, and swallowed, cleaning up his mess with a red face. "Sorry, sir, what where you saying?" He stumbled out, trying to look confident, but I could almost see him shaking.
