A lot had happened in three years. Robin returned with Zelena in tow NOT Marian and she had his baby. Robin and Regina were now happily together and Valerie had found her mother.... Zelena. There had been other villains who had shot through the town in quick succession, testing everyone to their limits. The author who worked with Cruella and the other villains, was defeated. Then came a period the group called 'The dark Swan' when Emma and Killian both became the dark one for a brief period each, the group traveled to Camelot and then Hell. Quetsiyah was not welcoming when she was reunited with her daughter and tried to kill her in the hell realm. Kai then made a resurgence and worked with the evil Mr Hyde and they too were defeated like all the rest. Through the last few years, Elena Jeremy had left. For good. Damon was left alone, again. Stefan and Caroline finally got together and Caroline and Ric agreed on a similar co-parenting system to Emma and Regina's with Henry, for their girls. Emma and Killian remained strong and Henry flourished with a new father figure. Matt met a nice girl called Tinkerbell through Nancy and he remained a sheriff's deputy all those years. While Bonnie and Enzo traveled the realms, searching for new adventures around every corner and not stopping for anything. They sent messages home sometimes through magic mirrors and enchanted bottles, but not all the time. Stefan and Caroline even made visits to Arandelle with Damon and David in tow to witness the wedding of Anna and Kristof. And Stefan embraced being a crown prince of the land at the hall with Caroline at his side, a true fairytale couple. Everyone seemed happy. Other then Damon and Nancy. The two had settled back into their denial, that only deepened with every new trial and tribulation. Damon became his old self. The playboy, drunken asshole who his friends all knew and hated. He didn't kill anyone, but he was rude and hard to work with and turbulent after a few drinks. Nancy was the only one who could fix him. And yet here she was utterly unable to do so. And as a new threat loomed in the form of a vindictive dark fairy and a vengeful queen of hell, the two needed each other more then ever.
The part where two lovers find one another again and realise all the time they had waisted on the same mistakes.
This wasn't a fairytale anymore, it was so much more.
