He had
Eyes
That glistened like the stars
And daydreams
As wistful as my own
I thought
He was perfect
For me
And I was
Perfect for him
I was in love
With how his
Eyes shone
Sparkled
Glittered in the sun
And how he'd wink at me
From across the room
I was always a girl
That was fascinated with the stars
So when I saw how his eyes were full of little constellations
I knew that I was in love
I didn't even
Consider the possibility
Of heartbreak
He was just so perfect
Those brown curls
And star filled eyes
He played the guitar
And sang along to Hozier
His face was kissed by the sun herself
He was perfect in every way
I fell in love
With those starry eyes
And soon enough
I fell in love
With him
The boy
Who must have been from space
Because
He was just so otherworldly
But also
So down to earth
Maybe
That's why
I couldn't stay with him
I wanted
To go as high as the clouds
But his feet
Were deeply rooted to the soil
To this town
I loved the boy with stars in his eyes
He might have loved me too
But we just weren't meant to love each other
During that season of life
