Autumn
Brings change
The leaves will change
And fall
And winter will come
Covering it all
Then spring brings renewal
But not for us
Spring
Brought change
And summer
Brought even more distance
Between us
Autumn came
And I hoped
For some kind
Of reconciliation
I prayed
We hadn't grown too far apart
I didn't want to lose
You
But I should have seen it coming
A long time ago
When your laughs
Turned brittle
And forced
They easily broke away
I should have known
That spring brought change too
So when autumn came
And those brittle laughs of yours
Were more fragile than ever
I knew
We were over
