Jaehaerys' skin was glowing as she stood at the entrance of their tent, her long silver hair reflected the sunlight and Robb thought she looked like an angel.
Robb had been watching his wife for some time now. He loved to watch her as she walked, as she talked. Her blue dress barely covered her back and was open around the stomach. He loved that she left her hair down today. It was his favorite of her looks.
"I heard a little rumor." Robb said startling Jaehaerys. She glanced at him with narrowed eyes and a smirk.
"And what did you hear?" She asked. Robb chuckled and said, "that a raven flew in last night. A letter from your sister. It's on the desk." He explained and Jaehaerys rushed over to the desk to see a letter written in Valyrian.
"My darling sister,
I'm so happy to hear that you have given birth to your bundle of joy. I'm afraid I have terrible news.
A witch has murdered Khal Drogo. My son with him. I am hoping his men stay with me, but I fear they will not.
We will bury him tonight, and with it I will burn the witch at the stake, hatching my dragons with it, as you did.
I love you so much and I cannot wait to see you again.
With love,
Daenerys Stormborn of The Targaryens, first of her name, Khaleesi of the Dothraki, and widow to Khal Drogo."
Jaehaerys read the letter out loud to Robb who had sat up. Jaehaerys looked saddened and she realized just how far away Daenerys really was.
"I'm so sorry, my love." Robb said and Jaehaerys smiled and sat beside her husband. Robael perched his head up at her and crawled over to her lap.
"It's quite alright. How are you feeling this morning?" She asked. Robb chuckled and looked down at the scars littering his body.
"I've been better, but with you and our daughter by my side, I'm just fine." He assured her and placed a kiss on her forehead before standing up wrapping a robe around his naked body.
They had made love every night, each time the sex getting more rough. Robb wanted everyone to know she was his. His men had grown far too close with her and he wanted to stake his claim.
Robb's battle plans were made as Jaehaerys breast fed Lyanna. She had grown in the past month, Robb hardly noticed. He tried to make time for his family, but he also wanted to keep busy, to not think of his father and the grief he wanted to let out.
Robb blew out a breath when he saw his men guarding the prisoners. He wanted to take his grief out on the cause of it all.
Grey Wind followed him close behind and a guard led Robb through the cells to Jaime's.
Jaime's head lifted at the sound of the cage opening. He smirked at Robb with dirty teeth.
"King in the North. I keep expecting you to leave me in one castle or another for safekeeping, but you drag me along from camp to camp. Have you grown fond of me, Stark? Is that it? Or has your wife? I have to say she is quite the woman." Jaime taunted and Robb looked at Jaime harshly,
"If I left you with one of my bannermen, your father would know within a fortnight, and my bannerman would receive a raven with a message, "Release my son and you'll be rich beyond your dreams. Refuse and your house will be destroyed, root and stem."" Jaime laughed and looked into Robb's eyes.
"You don't trust the loyalty of the men following you into battle?" Jaime questioned. Robb smirked and raised a brow,
"Oh, I trust them with my life. Just not with yours." Jaime chuckled and smirked at Robb again.
"Smart boy." Robb glared at Jaime and Jaime smirked widely, "What's wrong? Don't like being called 'boy'? Insulted?"
Robb looked behind Jaime's cage. Grey Wind walked slowly beside it with a now larger Rhaegon on his back. As Jaime nervously strainedto look behind him, Grey Wind walked heavily to the front of the cage. He stood behind Robb with harsh eyes.
"You insult yourself, Kingslayer. You've been defeated by a boy." Robb told him. With Grey Wind now fully in view, Jaime lost his brave facade. He gulped and stared at the wolf standing beside Robb.
"You're held captive by a boy. Perhaps you'll be killed by a boy." Robb said as Grey Wind entered the cage. Rhaegon sat atop the wolf's head and hissed at Jaime.
"Stannis Baratheon sent ravens to all the high lords of Westeros. King Joffrey Baratheon is neither a true king nor a true Baratheon."Robb explained. Jaime had still been staring at the dragon and direwolf until he focused back on Robb. "He's your bastard son."
"If that's true, Stannis is the rightful king. How convenient for him." Jaime chuckled and said to Robb.
"My father learned the truth. That's why you had him executed." Robb said and breathed in harshly.
"I was your prisoner when Ned Stark lost his head." Jaime claimed and Robb smirked at him.
"Your son killed him so the world wouldn't learn who fathered him. And you... you pushed my brother from a window because he saw you with the queen. You tried to murder my wife because of her family's crimes." Robb accused. He was right of course, Jaime had to admit the boy was intelligent.
"You have proof? Or do you want to trade gossip like a couple of fishwives?" Jaime asked. Robb responded, "I'm sending one of your cousins down to King's Landing with my peace terms."
Jaime laughed and shook his head at the Stark boy in front of him.
"You think my father's going to negotiate with you? You don't know him very well." He asked. Robb smirked and looked down at the Lannister in chains.
"No, but he's starting to know me." Robb stated. Grey Wind growled and Robb placed his hand on his neck, the dragon crawling up his arm to sit on his shoulder.
"Three victories don't make you a conqueror." Jaime reminded him, and Robb smirked.
"It's better than three defeats."
Robb nudged Grey Wind towards Jaime and left with Rhaegon on his shoulder. The dragon hissing as he left. Grey Wind growled in Jaime's face and came close to biting him. Jaime closed his eyes in preparation, but when he opened them back up, Grey Wind was gone and Jaime had once again, soiled his clothes.
