Jaehaerys was awaiting for Tyrion Lannister to enter the the room where she, Robb, and Maester Luwin sat. Her dragons sat perched on her shoulders in protection and a tactile move to frighten the Lannister if he even thought of laying a finger on her head.
Tyrion entered the room, he smiled warmly at the silver haired girl. She only returned a glare and he swore he saw a fury in her eyes that he had seen in her family's before her.
"I must say I received a slightly warmer welcome on my last visit." Tyrion said, noting how he was not wanted around any of them.
"Any man of the Night's Watch is welcome at Winterfell." Robb promised with false courtesy. Jaehaerys scoffed lightly and turned to the dwarf in front of her.
" Any man of the Night's Watch, but not I, eh, boy?" Tyrion asked. Both Robb and Jaehaerys stood up at the same time, Jaehaerys was furious, and it only made Tyrion respect her more.
"I'm not your boy, Lannister. I'm Lord of Winterfell while my father is away." Robb told him. He chuckled and looked over at Jaehaerys.
"Then you might learn a lord's courtesy. Lovely to see you again, Lady Stark. I must say, I'm sorry for what my brother did. He's impulsive at times." Robb seethed in anger at the dwarf addressing his wife so freely, but the Targaryen girl looked down at the small man and replied,
"Your brother will endure what he deserves when the gods decide." But she really meant she would kill him.
Hodor entered the room with Bran in his arms. Jaehaerys smiled at the boy who only looked down sadly.
"So it's true. Hello Bran. Do you remember anything about what happened?" Tyrion asked him. Jaehaerys walked over to Bran to stand beside him, and Robb watched her like a hawk.
"He has no memory of that day." She told Tyrion. He smiled and replied, "Curious."
"Why are you here?" Robb asked, but Tyrion ignored him and asked Bran, "Would your charming companion be so kind as to kneel? My neck is beginning to hurt."
"Kneel, Hodor." Bran told Hodor, and he did as told. Jaehaerys placed her hand on Bran's shoulder and her dragons stayed perched on her shoulders, except for one that had flown to Robb's.
L"Do you like to ride, Bran?" Tyrion asked. Bran nodded and said, "Yes. Well, I mean I did like to." He had returned to his sad expression, while Robael flew from her shoulder to Bran's and nuzzled into his neck. Tyrion's eyes widened in shock as he realized the dragons protected the whole family, not just her.
"The boy has lost the use of his legs." Maester Luwin told Tyrion. Robb's hand shook with anger at being ignored.
"What of it? With the right horse and saddle, even a cripple can ride." Tyrion remarked back. Bran sneered at the dwarf, "I'm not a cripple."
Tyrion smiled and said,
"Then I'm not a dwarf. My father will rejoice to hear it." Jaehaerys giggled lightly causing Tyrion to smile at the Targaryen princess and looked back to Bran, "I have a gift for you. Give that to your saddler. He'll provide the rest." Bran and Jaehaerys looked over the saddle plans while Tyrion addressed Robb, "You must shape the horse to the rider. Start with a yearling and teach it to respond to the reins and to the boy's voice."
Bran looked down at Tyrion with hopeful eyes,
"Will I really be able to ride?"
"You will. On horseback you will be as tall as any of them." Tyrion promised. Jaehaerys placed her hand on Bran's shoulder.
"And one day, you will ride a dragon." She promised him. Bran grinned and pet the dragon on his shoulder happily.
"Is this some kind of trick? Why do you want to help him?" Robb asked. He smiled at his wife and brother as they looked over the plans and spoke of how they could make one for her dragon.
"I have a tender spot in my heart for cripples, bastards and broken things." Tyrion said proudly.
"You've done my brother a kindness. The hospitality of Winterfell is yours." Robb said, very unhappy about the situation, but would allow the Lannister to stay if he wanted.
"Spare me your false courtesies, Lord Stark. There's a brothel outside your walls. There I'll find a bed and both of us can sleep easier." He told Robb and started to walk away before looking up at Jaehaerys.
"I'm deeply sorry about what my brother did." And left the room.
Jaehaerys handed Robb the saddle plans and then eyed Bran as he played with the three dragons in his arms.
"I hope this works." Robb pleaded and Jaehaerys smiled.
"It will, and one day, he will ride one of my dragons. He will be taller than anyone, than any lannister." Jaehaerys promised. Robb grinned at his wife and pulled her into a kiss. Bran watched and gagged as they kissed before the dragons flew back to their mother.
