Jaehaerys could only remember what it felt like, but seeing the details of the castle slowly emerge from the kings road, she felt an entire weight lift from her shoulders.
This was where her children were, where her family lived. Robb and Drako had not spoken much to one another since they had been reunited.
Robb stayed beside Jaehaerys, for fear of letting her out of his sight. She'd almost insisted on riding her dragon to Winterfell, but knew the people would be frightened. It'd been a while since they had seen her dragons, and they were much larger.
She also looked so much like Daenerys, that it was hard to determine whom was whom. Her once loose silver hair was now placed in a solid braid. Her only difference was the Stark sigil upon her clothing.
Jaehaerys glanced at her sister who looked overwhelmed by the distrust and distaste of the Northern people.
"They didn't trust me when I first came here." Jaehaerys spoke quietly to her sister who looked up. Drogon and Robbael were flying above them very low, which scared the villagers, but only made Daenerys smirk.
"You mustn't be like this, Dany." Jaehaerys told her and rode forward alongside Jon.
"If you think bending the knee to my sister was the best idea, you've been fooled. You've only created a problem with your people." Jaehaerys told Jon bluntly. When they'd reached the main gate of Winterfell, Sansa, Catelyn, Jaehaerys children, and Bran all awaited their family's arrival.
"Lyanna! Visenya!" Jaehaerys jumped from her horse to gather her now much more grown children in her arms.
Lyanna almost six now, and Visenya now almost one. Robb was right behind her as well and he lifted Lyanna in his arms making her squeal in delight.
"We missed you, Papa." She said and Robb placed a swift kiss on her forehead.
"Sansa." Jaehaerys wrapped her arms around her sister in law who smiled warmly.
Then she hugged Catelyn and then to Bran.
"You've grown much taller." She stated and Bran smiled slightly.
"So have your dragons." Bran said.
"The offer still stands. You can ride one of them if you'd like." Jaehaerys offered and Bran shook his head. Robb hugged him and closed his eyes briefly.
"No I'm afraid we don't have time for that." He said and looked around her to see Daenerys greet Sansa who was very cold to her.
"We don't have time for all this." Bran said when Jon greeted him.
"The Night King has your dragon." He told Daenerys and Jaehaerys gulped and heard the roar of the dragon's above.

Sansa and Jaehaerys sat by the fire in her chambers. Lyanna was reading a book at her feet and Sansa stared into the fire.
"You know, I never took this off." Sansa held out her necklace Jaehaerys had made for her so many years ago.
"I'm glad." Jaehaerys stated and sipped her tea.
"T-Theon rescued me. Ramsey was so cruel, and evil. But Theon..he still saved me." Sansa said remembering the man whom she'd grown to think fondly of.
"I saw Theon..at Dragonstone." Jaehaerys told her.
"How..how was he?" Sansa asked.
"He seemed well. His sister had just been kidnapped by their uncle. I was a little out of it at the time, I'd been injured by an arrow." Jaehaerys said as if it was something she shouldn't concern herself over.
"Have you been looked at by a Maester since you've arrived back here?" Sansa asked. Jaehaerys shook her head and Sansa stood up quickly.
"You must come with me." She ordered and pulled her along with her leaving Lyanna laying on the floor.
"Why? I'm fine." She insisted but Sansa shook her head. Something in her gut was telling her there was something wrong.
"Maester Wolkan!" Sansa exclaimed and the Maester looked at the two Stark women carefully.
"Is everything alright?" He asked and Sansa shoved Jaehaerys down in a chair.
"She needs to be checked." Sansa stated.
"I promise I'm fine." Jaehaerys said and the Maester looked over Jaehaerys. She was pale, but that was expected.
"I'd feel much better if you were checked out, so we don't have to worry." Sansa said and Jaehaerys sighed before giving in.

Once the Maester looked her over, he looked down at Jaehaerys Stark grimly.
"If you suffer one more injury, so much as a cut to the arm and it gets infected, the poison that's been dormant in your body will resurface." He said and Jaehaerys gulped.
She walked the halls of Winterfell for a long while, staring at the paintings that lined the halls.
She stopped in front of Lord Stark's portrait , or what seemed to be him. Not many who knew what he looked like still lived.
"This feels like the end." She said and then turned around to see Lord Stark smiling leaning against the doorway.
"Oh but it's not." He promised.
"Am I dreaming?" She asked pinching herself to make sure what she was seeing was true.
"No, my dear. But I know how scary this must be." He said and she scoffed and shook her head.
"The things I've seen. This is probably at the lowest." She smiled and Lord Stark chuckled.
"The war is still yet to come. And it seemed your sister has waged war against herself." He said and Jaehaerys sighed.
"If you knew what she'd been through to get here, you'd find it difficult to judge, but at the point she's at, I'm worried she's going to do something very stupid, resulting in one of us getting hurt." She told him honestly and Lord Stark sat beside her in his ghostly form.
"Robb needs you now more than ever." He admitted and Jaehaerys nodded. She thought for a moment and then asked,
"Am I seeing you because I'm dying?"
Lord Stark chuckled darkly and looked away.
"Sometimes I'm afraid you lot are smarter than you look." He said sadly. Jaehaerys sighed and placed with the hem of her dress.
"I've been slowly dying since the day I was shot with that arrow in Robb's camp." She said and Lord Stark nodded.
"But there is a way to save you. But I'm not sure you want to hear it." He said and she looked over at him.
"Your sister will die. I am not able to say when, but it will be by Jon's hand. Make sure it's by yours. Her life will transfer into your body as a gift from the gods for all you've suffered." Lord Stark told her.
"My sister will die?!" She asked and Lord Stark looked away.
"I'm afraid so, yes." He said and Jaehaerys closed her eyes.
"The gods asked me to give you this riddle,
Mercy separates true rulers from tyrants.  The blood of the dragon runs thick through her blood, but only the truest of them all will rise above."
And once she opened her eyes, Lord Stark was gone, leaving her to sit in the dark hallway and think of the riddle.
It's ominous words held a meaning, but she wasn't sure what it was.
