As the Long Night approached, Jaehaerys was very cautious of what she did. Robb was hardly around, spending most of his time practicing and working with Jon.
Robb and Jon were naming commanders, but training everyone who could fight. Jaehaerys never told anyone what the Maester had said, but she was to ride Robbael when the dead arrived.
She knew the risks, as they all did, but Robbael needed his rider.
They'd received word earlier that day that the dead had taken the Karstarks and the Umbers, they were fighting for the Night King.
Theon Greyjoy had returned to Winterfell and joined the fight, everyone could see the love Sansa and he shared.
Lyanna, only six years old, was holding the hand of her one year old sister, Visenya, while their grandmother, Catelyn Stark walked them towards her.
She kneeled down to their level and held out her arms.
"I need you both to be brave. You will be with your Aunt Sansa and grandmother, but I need you, Lyanna, to protect your sister." Jaehaerys said to her daughters as their eyes filled with tears.
"I'm scared, mommy." Lyanna said sadly and Jaehaerys smiled and wiped the tears from her face. She wrapped her arms around her oldest daughter and kissed her head.
"It's going to be scary. I'm scared, too, but that's why we must be brave." She told Lyanna and then wrapped Visenya in a hug as well.
"I love both of you so much. I want you to go say goodbye to your father, now." She said and they nodded turning around to run after Robb who was across the courtyard.
"I know we've had our differences, but I hope you will be safe." Catelyn hugged her gently and Jaehaerys smiled and placed a kiss on her cheek.
"I will." Jaehaerys walked closer to the gates and closed her eyes as she prepared herself for the night.
She only ever got a few moments of peace, if not for her children, her sister or husband were up to something.
"I hope you were not planning on giving me a kiss before you climbed on Robael." She heard from behind her.
She turned around to see Robb who looked tired. His eyes were dark and baggy. The scruff on his face was longer.
Her small hand found his cheek and she ran her thumb along the cheekbone.
"We will always be together, my love. I love you," she promised and kissed him deeply. Robb's strong arms wrapped around her waist and held her tightly against his body.
"Do not step foot off that dragon." He ordered and she nodded.
"I love you, too." He said, glancing at her once more before walking over to the men he was commanding.
Jaehaerys' had her hair wrapped in a braid not a strand was loose, and she wore a warm thick suit that was solid black.
Robbael landed on the ground in front of her and she looked to see Daenerys standing atop a rock.
Both of her dragons were now beside her and Jaehaerys climbed atop Robael to fly to her.
She landed beside Drogon and walked over to stand beside Daenerys.
"I'm sorry about Viserion." Jaehaerys told her. She'd said it several times already, but the thought of fighting her sister's child was unnerving.
"If I had to do it all again, to see what we've seen, I would." Daenerys told her. Jaehaerys nodded and locked arms with her while they watched the sun go down. They heard footsteps behind them and turned to see Jon.
Jaehaerys decided she'd let them say goodbye, but gave Jon a hug before she walked over to Robbael.
She pet his neck while she watched. Everyone was lined up outside the castle walls. Robb stood next to the west side of the castle.
A woman with red hair rode up to Ser Jorah and said something before grabbing ahold of a Dothraki sword and setting it afire along with the rest of the Dothraki.
GreyWind and Ghost were side by side and stared at Ser Jorah until he yelled for them to charge.
It was loud, almost too loud with silence. All that was heard was the war cries of the Dothraki, who's fire was extinguished as soon as they hit the tree line.
Jaehaerys glanced up at Daenerys who watched them retreat and run back towards Winterfell.
Jaehaerys climbed atop of Robbael and he flew off, circling the castle. The dead were fast, and running toward the army.
Robbael, Rhaegon, and Arys were flying alongside each other when the fog hit.
It was hard to see, so the dragons flew high into the clouds.
She'd never been on Robbael when he was like this, but she allowed him to lead her where he thought it was safe.
She saw that the trench had still not been lit, remembering that fire killed the dead, and she screamed out over the noise,
"DRACARYS!"
Robbael lit the trench on one side while the other side was lit by something else.
Robbael spit fire on the army of the dead, causing over a hundred of them to fall.
She smirked and stopped beside Drogon to see Daenerys staring into the fog.
There, alongside several White Walkers, was the Night King.
Daenerys turned to Jaehaerys and yelled for her to go while Daenerys had Drogon fly right over to him and Jaehaerys followed.
Both of them said in high Valyrian, "Dracarys."
And watched as the flames engulfed The Night King.
But it didn't phase his body and the girls looked to each other before flying off. They circled the castle and she saw where even Robb's part of the army was retreating.
Robbael landed atop one of the towers. He surely had destroyed the inside, but he still sprayed fire over the dead with a fight.
The Unsullied were brave and stayed outside protecting Winterfell, but Jaehaerys realized that they might not win.
She climbed down off Robbael and told him to go. But he stayed behind and lit the dead up as they climbed up the side.
She grabbed a bow from one of the dead and started shooting.
Drako had taught her well.
He watched proudly while she shot each of the dead off the ledge until they all stood back up.
Every dead they'd killed, even new ones stood up and she saw that she couldn't defeat them from standing so she rushed to Robbael.
The dead had latched onto his tail and he flew off before she could get on.
"Oh gods," she said out loud and turned back around. The sword Robb had made for her all those years ago sat on her side and she unsheathed it.
She cut down a few dead and backed down until she felt it.
A strike to her arm and she screamed in agony and watched as the blood poured from the wound.
Her feet carried her through the castle walls, but she wasn't stopping.
Blood covered her entire sleeve, but all she could smell was the stench of death around her.
Her body was covered in ash and more than likely reeked of dragon flesh, but she heard the sound of a dragon outside. The sound was awful, and she knew it was Viserion.
They were doomed, she thought.

Jaehaerys fought bravely. Her arms ached and she was growing tired as she slumped against the wall.
"Jaehaerys!" Robb screamed and cut down a dead soldier sneaking up behind her.
She could feel the poison inside her blood, and her eyes looked down to see the green liquid poison leaking from the bright red blood.
Robb hadn't noticed and they fought back to back until the dead fell.
Each of them crumbled to the ground and she closed her eyes in relief that someone had killed the Night King.

As she was tended to in her chambers, she heard the sound of Lyanna screaming for her outside the door.
"Let them in." She said and the door opened to reveal Robb and her two daughters.
"My love." Robb said and rushed in to give her a hug. She'd already been dressed in a gown.
The black sleeves covered the cut on her arm. And the tight corset showed off much of her chest.
She'd had to change from her other attire because of the blood.
Lyanna wrapped her arms around her mother's leg and Jaehaerys smiled to herself.
"Let is join the feast, shall we?" Robb asked. Jaehaerys smirked and held Lyanna's hand while he carried Visenya in his arms.
