It was September and school had started, but I couldn't keep focus-- Ashton's going to be a dad. Arielle hasn't told him the news yet and thought it would be best to tell him when she knows for sure that she is having it. I couldn't listen to the professor because my mind kept thinking about the whole situtation.

"...any questions, feel free to stop by during office hours. You're all excused," said Professor Malik.

I was failing the class; this was a first, but I left anyway. I went to meet up with my friend Kathleen for lunch down the street.

"I love wieners so much," she says as she shoves a hot dog into her mouth.

"I hate how you call it that," I cringe at the words.

"So how's the whole pregger thing going with Arielle? Did she tell her baby daddy Ashton yet?" she asks.

I didn't want to talk about it, "not yet."

"well she needs to hurry it up..." she sasses. "who else knows about this?"

"Just me and her parents, and I kinda told Mikey," I reply, "but I told him not to say anything about it."

We finish up and leave.

"You're acting kind of boring lately, what's up," she always know when something's wrong.

I shrug. I knew what the problem was; I was realizing how much I cared for Ashton and how much I really liked him. But she didn't know that, it is the only thing I kept a secret from her-- I kept it from everyone.

But she was certain something was up, "I'm spending the night at your place. We'll have our little dance parties where we dance like idiots, just the two of us, like old times. Those always make you happy."

She was right, I do enjoy those. Maybe it'll help lighten things up.

It was 9:30 at night and Kathleen and I had been dancing to every One Direction song from all four albums, eating junk, and stalking our favorite celebs.

"Ughh Yes! Zac Efron is so bae," she screams.

"I heard he's gay?" I knew she'd get mad if I say that.

"No he's not! It isn't true... that's all fake!" she cries.

I laugh at her reaction, "I dunno..." I show her a picture of him and some guy together. I liked messing with her.

We were having fun and my mind was clear of everything. I felt so much better.

The doorbell rang, Uncle Ken opened it. Arielle.

"Is Sherry home?" she asks with a worrysome look.

I head over, "what's going on?" She killed the mood; everything got serious again.

"I told him and he left," she cries on my shoulder.

I could honestly say I felt bad. I could imagine being in her shoes. Sometimes it even did feel like it was happening to me with how involved I was in the whole problem.

"I'll call Calum and ask him if he knows where he went," I assured her.

I dialed his number.

"Hey, quick question," I say.

"Supp?" He casually answers.

"Well... There's..." I didn't know how to ask.

"Whaaat?"

"Where's Ashton?" The words finally came out of my mouth.

"Here, we're playing FIFA and having guy time."

I hung up the phone quickly.

"Stay here with Kathleen," I told Arielle.

Kathleen didn't like that idea, "what why..."

I looked at her with big eyes. She knows why.

"I'm going to go talk to him," I say as I dramatically look back and shut the door behind me.

I had forgotten that I couldn't get anywhere without a car and I didn't have license that was valid in Australia yet. So I walked back in, "Uncle Ken, can you take me to you Calum's please." I smiled awkwardly.

I arrived at Calum's and barged in, "listen to me! You have to--" I look around.

No one was downstairs; Ashton and Calum were upstairs. So I walked up.

They greeted me as they sit and play their video games, "Hey!"

"Ashton I need to talk to you," I say with concern.

"After this game," he was very concentrated.

I walk over to the PS4 and shut it off.

"Nooo!" They cried.

"Ashton, outside," I demanded.

He followed my command unwillingly, "ugh."

"What are you doing?" I tell him.

"What does it look like?" He squints his eyes and flicks his wrist, "you shut off our game..."

"I mean with the Arielle and the whole situation? She told me you just walked out and left after she told you about the baby."

His facial expression went from angry to upset.

"I don't know," he rubs the back of his neck, "I just need time to not think about it. I don't know what to do, it's all too much right now."

I listened.

"I... I was actually planning to break up with Arielle before she told me. When she said 'we need to talk' I was hoping that she was going to dump me, but now that she's pregnant I don't know what to do. I know I can't just neglect the baby," he nearly tears up.

"You can't just run away from this," I tell him, "you have to decide. I know you'll make a good decision." I placed my hand on his shoulder, "I'll be there to support whatever you do."

He pulls himself together, "I don't want the baby to grow up without a dad. Me and Arielle can make this work, I'll try my hardest."

I give him a smile, but I knew deep down I was hurting. I was give up a person I have feelings for to someone else. I wish he knew how I felt. But at the same time I was happy for him. Ashton is a good guy, he always takes full responsibility and knowing what his choice is and reason, shows that he will be a great father.

"Go talk to her," I tell him.
