"Sherry Jane Anderson," they called. I walked up the steps and across the platform to get my diploma. I heard the people in the stands clap and my best friends screaming out my name, I finally graduated!
The ceremony ended, and my friends and I were planning to have a little "celebration" at Coleen's place.
"Hey, are you coming out tonight?" asked Karlyle, my closest friend since middle school.
"Of course!" I finished up picture time with my friends and family, and followed after her. "I'll be home late mom, dad, gotta go!"
We finally arrived to the party. From Coleen's front yard, you could hear the music, and see the flashing lights of the disco ball and strobe lights. She had turned her house into a some sort of a night club. The party wasn't small at all, the whole graduating class was basically there, and more!
"Coleen I thought you said it was just going to be a few people?" I asked.
"It was..." She replied hesitantly, "BUT, then I thought it would be more fun to have everyone here. Plus, it's our last time to all be together!"
It wasn't a surprise that she would change plans and invite hundreds of people; she is known as the "party girl." I, on the other hand, hated being at big parties. But Coleen was right, it's our last time being all together, we had to make the most of the night. Hell with it, it's not like I'll see these people in college. After all, I am leaving the U.S. and moving to Australia in a few weeks.
I looked at Karlyle and said "well, here's to no regrets."
