Sorry if there's any random details, I like adding them.
Kaz stood in front of a mirror straightening his tie. Inej has asked him if he could help her show her parents around. He'd immediately said yes, but now he had to deal with the problem of not knowing what to wear.
The Kaz on the outside said not to care, why would Inej care about what he wore? But the tiny inside voice told him to take a chance, dress up, and talk to her like normal.
He ended up wearing a suit and tie, like always, but he made sure to iron the suit beforehand.
For good measure, he took his gloves off...
That wasn't happening, he told himself, pulling the gloves back on. He wasn't at the point where he could live without gloves just yet.
At the last second, he grabbed a wipe, and wiped his cane down. When he was done, his cane was shining, for the first time in a long time.
He took a deep breath and walked out the door. He didn't know why he was being so nervous, he was helping Inej and her parents...
Right?

Inej walked happily to the restaurant she was meeting her parents and Kaz that day. She'd invited Kaz because he probably knew the city better then anyone else.
Scratch that, she'd invited him because she wanted to spend time with him. See if he really liked her or not. She walked into the restaurant, and asked for a table. The waiter there already knew her, and immediately obliged.
Inej sat down happily and waited for everyone else to show up. In the meantime, she thought about Kaz, and what would happen if he really did love her.
She definitely loved him, his black eyes, his scheming face, and his limp.
She'd purposefully worn some much prettier clothes today, but she didn't know if Kaz would even notice. Or if he'd mention it if he did notice.
Her thoughts stopped short when he walked inside, her parents chatting beside him.
