Chapter 12
Unedited

Four months later

I sat on the top of Billy's car, and we watched the sunset from a very secluded area of Hawkins national park.

"So, what should I do?" I asked, taking a sip of my drink, before looking over to the blonde guy sitting next to me.

"Sure, go out with him," Billy said after being silent for a few minutes. I nodded, looking away.

"I don't know; it doesn't feel right," I said, looking back over at Billy.

"If you don't do this now, you will always wonder what could've been; just go on this date and see what happens."

I ruffled his hair "when did you get so wise?"

I laughed and took a bite out of my toco. I could see billy looking at me. "What?" I smiled.

"Taco sauce." He whipped the side of my mouth with his thumb before putting his finger in his mouth.
I scrunched my nose in disgust only to receive an airy laugh from Billy in Return.

"And you will have her home by when?"

"10, sir," Steve repeated. I looked at my mom, and she patted my dad's back and shook her head before mouth "12" I smiled, and dad let go of Steve's hand.

When we got out the door, he let out a breath of relief. I laughed at him. "That was intense." He put his hand on my lower waist and guided me to his car, opening the door.

When we got in his car, he pushed my hair back. "You look great." I smiled "you too." the butterflies in my stomach were extra crazy tonight. Every small gesture from Steve made my heart flip.

We arrived at the restaurant, and he was an absolute gentleman pulling out a chair paying for the food, and he was just perfect.  A part of me was so happy it could do cartwheels in this pale blue dress, while the other part felt weird about going on a date with my best friend's ex-boyfriend.

I had mentioned my date with Steve to Nacy, and she thought it was a great idea, but the idea of her being so chill with it freaked me out.

When we left the restaurant, it was a little over ten."Your dad is going to kill me." He panicked.

"He's just pushing your buttons; we can stay out till 12." I giggled.  Steve stopped and spun on his heels in excitement

"Really?" "yes, really." I smiled as we walked back to his car.

When we arrived at the passenger side of the car, instead of opening the door for me, he trapped me between his arms, leaning both hands on the vehicle.

"Ummm, Steve," I said, and he slowly leaned in until we were centimeters away.  And then our lips touched; it was a quick kiss taking me off guard.

Once our lips disconnected, his eyes slowly left my lips before traveling to my eyes. His warm breath grazing my lips. His eyes yet again dropped down to my lips, and this time he deepens the kiss.

He put one of his hands on my waist and the other one on my checks. My lungs quickly were running out of air.

"Steve," I called out in between the kiss. Did he have lungs of steel? As much as I wanted to kiss him, and believe me, it's all I've wanted since forever; something felt wrong about the way his lips moved on mine.

"Steve," I called again. I said, suddenly feeling trapped between his hands and hisbody that closing in on mine pushing me to the car.

"Come on, Nancy." his words came out panting as if he was desperate for more. I froze; my lips stopped moving, but he kept kissing me. My hands dropped to my side, and I couldn't move. Did he just? No, I had to have heard that wrong. Did he call me Nancy?
