Sunday was awful as I was bombarded with homework from every class it took me the entire day to finish it. Once again I reminded my self next week to start my homework on Saturday.
It was almost late evening when I came downstairs.
"Alright I will come pick it up." My dad said on the phone.
"What's up?" I asked sitting on the kitchen island.
"I just placed an order for Chinese food but the delivery car is broken. So now I have to go and pick it up." He said.
"I can go."
"It's not to far I need the walk."
"You sure I can just go drive and get it."
"It's fine I've been stuck in my room all day I want some fresh air." I hopped off the island and dad took out his wallet.
"Alright this should cover it." He handed me a 20 dollar bill.
"This is more than-"
"Shhhhh, just keep the change and don't tell your mom." I nodded hugging him before putting on my sneakers.
As I was passing the Hargrove residence I didn't see Billy's car but I saw max skating in her driveway.
"Whoa your getting so good at that." She stopped and ran over and I gave her a hug.
"Wanna try?"
"No I would break my nose or hips or legs." I laughed and she shook her head.
"Falling is part of learning." She pulled my hand to brought me to the front of her house.
"When did you get a new skateboard?" I asked
"Billy got it, I think Neil forced him to buy it for me." I laughed.
"It looks better than your old one."
"It's much smoother as well."
"Here stand on it." She took my hands and I stepped on the board . She slowly walked next to me while hold my hands but every few seconds I would walk off because I had no form of balance.
"Max I suck." I said getting off.
"No you don't just one more time." She said and I sighed before getting on.
As I was half way down the drive way the board slipped which sent me flying backwards. Ready to feel the concrete on the ground and ache in pain I squeezed my eyes closed but it never came.
"Holy crap I'm so sorry!" Max came running over.
"What did I tell you shithead." I heard the voice from behind me talk that when I realized that indeed billy had broken my fall.
"I'm fine seriously." I said as he got me up from the ground.
"Yeah I know because you landed on my balls." He grabbed his crouch Turing a weird shade of red.
"I'm so sorry." I said trying no to laugh. I looked over at max who was looking elsewhere.
"Why would you even get her on the board." He asked angrily.
"It's fine I wanted to get on." I lied and he frowned.
"Again I'm sorry Kai." I shook my head "it's fine I will just stick to driving and walking for now."
"Get inside." He said to max and she ran off before waving at me.
"I am sorry." I said point at his area.
