I was swift to scramble out from beneath him and rising shakily to my feet.

"It doesn't matter why I am marrying him. I just am is all and its best you remember that," I said seriously but the effects was spoilt by my still heaving bossom.  He looked so delicious laying there on the couch so I did the only thing any reasonable female would have done.  I ran from the living room and clattered back up ungracefully to my alloted room.

I was swift to turn and lock the door before throwing myself onto the bed to sob my heart out. Only I had no sobs. I also had no reason to sob. I had only confusion.

Strong confusion over what I should do next.

But I must have dozed off at some point for soon the birds were chirping in my window and I jerked awake remembering vaguely that something momentous had happened the night before.

But I couldn't for the life of me recall exactly what. It was a clear indication of the state of my mind that it was only after I had snuck out of the still quiet house  after leaving a not on the fridge door and taken my seat on the bus that it all came back to me.

Brett proposed!

Marriage. ...to me!

If that is what it was.

I shook and shuddered in reaction all the way back to the city.  Then I went on to spend the rest of the day in a state of intense disbelief.  There had to be something I was seriously missing.  In the span of such a short time.  I have been proposed to twice and fell in and out with what I thought was the real thing too.

There's gotta be something going on that I was totally unawares off. Either that or I am simply stoked over the sale of my house and as a result am hallucinating the rest.

I stood for a moment staring aimlessly into an empty corner in my otherwise packed little flat and slowly shook my head.  Nope it cannot be that. Too much has happened that my limited capacity to hallucinations would allow.

I decided to get packing instead. Mark had messaged me earlier this day saying I would be going with him on the business trip to no where. At least that was how the outback appeared to me. Only I would be going not as his employee but as his fiancee.

Mark had e even made a doctor's appointment for me. I was to head there first and get evidence that I am indeed a virgin then sign some blasted contract that protects his interest in the event I do get married to him.... I was still in doubt on that. And all that will have to be done before I go on this trip.

Swell!

Not!
