"Never.. felt.. better," I got out between gasps of air.
Before I knew it he was behind me thumping mightily on my back. The jerk!
"You jerk!" I exclaimed now tomato red. This morning was turning into a rapid disaster and we have not even begun to discuss what I came here for.
A deep rumble of laughter had him shaking in effort to contain it but not for long. Soon his famous laugh was heard echoeing off the walls in his office. The jerk.
"You didn't have to pound on my back. I am probably black and blue. If I have a busted rib I will report you," I said threatheningly. He gave a shout of laughter at that. The man had no shame,
"Look do you want the house or not? I have other interested arties youy know. I came here to give you a fair chance to have your say and make me an offer I can't refuse, for old time sake," I threw in the last for goom measure as I lied furiously at him. Now that the ball was at his end, I leaned back in my seat and took another careful sip of water.
He moved back to this time to lean against hsi desk, practically towering over me as he tried still tocontain his shaking shoulders and muffle the ungainly laugh that kept erupting whenevr he deigned to look at me. This was so not amusing. I steadfastly refused to meet his eyes, sure that I would be rendered senseless in laughter if I did. His laugh had always been catching. He'd boom out in laughter way over in his own home and hearing it in mine always had me smiling.
