Unable to take it anymore I wrung free of Ron and took off up the drive as fast as my heels would carry me. After clattering for what seemed like a mile uphill I came to an abrupt halt just at the edge of the line that lead into the entrance. What an asshole! This time I was cursing Marc for I was out of breath and had the weather been a little warmer I would have been sweaty to boot.
Being engaged to a millionnaire was nit what it was cracked up to be. I was sure what with Inflation and all nothing short of a billionaire would do these days. But with those being scarce and even in the extinct list what with the current global economic turmoil, I would just have to make do with my paltry millionnaire. I gave a hysterical giggle at my crazy thoughts and unwittingly drew the eyes of everyone in that little courtyard. That just made me want to giggle more.
Suddenly a hand wrapped around my own and wrenched me free of the line I was standing in.
"What are you doing here?" Mark growled into my ears before dragging me along past the line up. I gave those still queued up an appologetic smile for having a first class ticket in.
"Where have you been? I expected you here hours ago." Mark was continuing his triade not really waiting for any replies before he sprung his mum right before me and announced without fanfare ," Mum here is Sherri, my fiance. Sherri meet my mum."
I smiled politely and mummered a suitable greeting then waited politely for her to shut her gaping mouth and return the greet. But all she managed was," Oh my god! You actually found one!"
Found one? I was always there right beneath his nose you nincumpoop. Listening to them you would think a virgin over 25 was a scarcity. Altough in this household it would be. Marcs mum was very much like him a bitch to hus tomcat. Both were ever willing to drop their pants at the slightest show if interest. I hear his dad was no different hence the crazy stipulation in Marcs Grandfathers' will that demanded he marry a virgin and not just any virgin but one over 25 years of age. I fit that bill.
It certainly explained Marcs avid interest in my love life or lack there off. I had off course passed the 25 year mark three years back but Marc had not been willing to do his part of the deal yet and that was to refrain from all other fillies once married to me. It seemed Marc had behind my back gone about disuading every male interest that set their sights on me for years now.
I could not believe despite the ass he is I was still here doing him this favour.
I looked on at Margaret with blatant dislike on my face. What do I have I am a virgin tattood accross my forehead or something? How could she tell from just one look?
She must have read my expression correctly for she let out a peel of laughter at my expense I was sure.
"No honey, although you are naive enough to have pulled it off that was not how I knew. Marc here promised to bring his virgin and announce his engagement tonight over a month ago. So naturally when he introduced you I knew you were still a virgin. A month is a good long time I am proud that he managed to refrain from taking you in all that time," she said.
A month? Is he freaking kidding me? I turned to give him a death glare.
