Everything was numb. She felt drained and weak. She slightly opened her eyes but had to shut them tightly because it was too bright. She let out a soft wince of pain. Her throat felt dry. She was suddenly becoming aware of herself. Why did everything hurt so much? Her head was pounding. Her arm felt sore. She slowly managed to open her eyes. The light hurt but she adjusted to it quickly. She looked around . She was in the hospital wing. She looked down. bandages were tightly wound along her arm. She tried to move it. Pain shot through her whole body. She gave a feeble whimper, her throat was still raw. She wondered if she could stand at all. She wanted to get outside and get fresh air. It would make her feel better. keeping her arm and still as possible she sat up and slowly moved her legs off the side of the bed. She paused. Draco Malfoy was sitting in a chair next to her asleep. Her stomach fluttered a little and she felt her cheeks turn pink. He had been waiting for her to wake up. Bailee slowly tried to stand up. Her head was swimming with pain. She tried to grab the bedpost with her hand. Crap. She had grabbed it with her right arm. She let go quickly to try and stop the pain but she was getting dizzy again. She started to fall. "Bailee!" Draco had woken up. He caught her as she fell. "How clumsy of me." She mumbled. He smelled of green apples and Dior sauvage. He smiled with concern in his eyes.
"You shouldn't have done that" he said
"I know," said Bailee, smiling. She giggled softly and blacked out again.

Uggg could she just die already. Every now and then she would wake up and see a couple people at her bedside but she would shortly thereafter pass out again. It was nighttime now. She lay in her bed barely awake. She didn't know why but she felt a sudden surge of sadness. The weight and hollow feeling was returning. She welcomed it. It calmed her to know she could feel such feelings again.
She closed her eyes. Tears welled up in her eyes and shortly after they began falling.
Hot tears stained her cheeks.
She took a large breath of air and sniffled. Her heart was pounding heavily against her chest. Another violent sob came. She turned over onto her left side. She was now facing the doors to the hospital wing. She closed her eyes again. She heard the doors of the hospital open then close. Soft footsteps were walking over to her. "Bailee, Are you awake?" It was Draco. She didn't move. A few tears were still sliding down her face into her pillows. But she appeared to be asleep
"Oh." He said, noticing the tears. "I wish I could help," he said. He picked up her left hand and held tightly on it for a moment.
"Sleep tight."
And with that he quietly left and slipped out the doors again. Bailee had little butterflies in her stomach. She never realized how much she liked him. He must really care about her to come see her in the middle of the night. She shut her eyes tightly and sighed. She slowly drifted back to sleep

Bailee awoke again. This time finally awake. She looked around.
Her arm was unbandaged and blood was seeping through the cuts as if they were fresh. She winced as Madam Pomfrey dripped a liquid onto the now deep gashes on her arm. They continued to bleed.
Bailee laid still. Madam Pomfrey now was wrapping her arm in hew bandages. She watched as Madam Pomfrey walked over to a figure by the opposite window. It was Snape.
"The cuts just won't heal." Madam Pofrey said in a panicked voice. "She keeps losing too much blood."
Bailee stayed quiet.
"I'll try to make another potion and see if it helps," Snape said, sounding surprisingly worried. "It seems to be some kind of dark magic..."
Bailee sat up slowly. She winced again because of her arm. Madam Pomfrey and Professor Snape turned around. Madam Pomfrey rushed forward. " How are you feeling?" asked Madam Pomfrey.
"Fine." Bailee said, my arm just hurts a bit. What's wrong with it?''
"It's just mending dear."
"Oh." Bailee knew she was lying. Bailee started to climb out of her bed
"where are you going?" Said Snape.
"Oh, outside. I think some fresh air would be nice."
"You have to rest" said Madam Pomfrey. Bailee stood up anyway. She was dizzy but tried to act normal. "Really, I feel fine, it would just be nice to have a walk around the grounds, you know, to clear my head."
Bailee walked towards the exit feeling satisfied. She pulled open the doors and stepped into the hall. What time was it? She continued to walk down the hall until she came across an archway that led to the tall stone bridge. She went through the archway and walked out onto the bridge. It was sunset again, only this time, rain was peacefully thudding on the concrete roof of the bridge. She looked over the valley, much higher than she had been last night. Or was it last night? She would have to ask Draco. Draco Malfoy, why would he like her? He was a Slytherin and she was a Gryffindor. She continued to walk down the bridge, slowly making her way to the edge of the forest. She knew where a small patch of wild strawberries was. She had just realized how hungry she was. Hah. she thought, hungry, she never thought she would say that in a sentence. After walking for a couple minutes she got to the strawberry patch. They were perfectly ripe. She bent down and picked one off its stem. The rain was pouring harder now. Thankfully she had some trees covering her. She bit off a small piece of the strawberry. It tasted sweet and... good? She had to get back to the castle before it got too dark. Plus her arm was stinging all over. She went out from under the shelter of the great pine trees. She was almost immediately drenched by the rain. As she started to run back to the bridge she heard a voice calling her name from the bridge... It was Draco! He got nearer. "Bailee what are you doing out here!" he called from a little distance away.
"I needed some fresh air!" she called back. Draco approached her now. Draco looked at her. She was drenched in water from head to toe. Her dark hazelnut hair fell, glistening with water, in long waves down her shoulders. She giggled, happy at the sight of Draco. He smiled.
"Here, have my jacket."
He took off his jacket and pulled it tight around her shoulders. They were both smiling now. Draco's perfect hair was soaking wet. He was close. He smelled of green apples again. He leaned in closer. "You know... I really like you." he said
"yeah... I know" she said, still smiling.
He pulled her in. Their lips met. He placed a hand around her waist. She placed a hand around his neck. The rain continued to pour around them but it felt like it was miles away. She could distantly hear little crickets singing in the woods. The taste of sweet strawberry and apple in her mouth. The soft rain on her back.
All was right with the world.
