Separate chapter: Bailees 2nd year- interlude (In the Chamber of secrets)

The basilisk was chasing Bailee. Faster and faster down the slimy damp corridors. Fawks had blinded it but it still had really good hearing. Bailee's footsteps echoed through the corridors. Every time she stepped, water splashed around her. She turned left to find the tunnel blocked. 'Oh no' she thought. She turned around, back pressed against the steel bars. The basilisk appeared in the opening. It turned its head and looked right at Bailee. She didn't dare move or breathe. The basilisk was sensing the area. She knew it would strike any moment. She slowly bent down and picked up a small stone. She turned it in her hand and tossed it into the tunnel she had just come from. It skittered across the floor. The basilisk turned its head and slithered down the corridor after it. Bailee took a few breaths and then quietly went down the other tunnel. She entered the main chamber and ran over to where Draco was lying. She dropped down to her knees and shook Draco's shoulder.
"Please wake up!" she shouted.
"he won't wake." Tom Riddle chuckled. "He will only grow weaker as I grow stronger."
Bailee glared at Tom Riddle. Just then the basilisk shot out from another tunnel. It was headed straight for Bailee, she turned around looking for anything that could possibly help her. The sorting hat lay on the ground in a sad pile. Then out of the corner of her eye she saw something shimmer from within. She quickly clambered over to the hat and picked it up. She stuck her hand inside and pulled out a silver sword. She held it up pointing towards the ceiling. Red rubies glistened in the hilt of the sword. The words Godric Gryffindor were splayed out on the blade. She turned around to find her and the basilisk now almost face to face. She swung the sword out in front of her. She had no idea how to handle a sword. The basilisk bared its fangs. Huge slimy yellow teeth. It opened its mouth ready to strike. Bailee stepped forward and plunged the sword through the room of its mouth. Something hard and painful stung her arm. She held onto the sword. Then she pulled it out with a sickening Shink. She stumbled back as her vision started to get fuzzy. She looked down and saw that her arm was covered in red sticky blood and a large fang was sticking out of it. She looked back up and saw that the basilisk was coiling backwards. It landed with a heavy thud. Blood pooled around its head. Bailee collapsed next to Draco. The world was spinning. Was she going to die?
"Ah, yes. Basilisk venom. Funny how quickly it penetrates the body. I'm afraid you will only have a few minutes left, just like poor Draco here." Tom said.
Bailee reached down and pulled the fang out. She was too young to die right now, what the heck. She looked over and saw Tom Riddle's diary clasped tightly in Draco's hand. She pulled it out and opened it slamming it down on the floor. She had no idea what she was doing.
Bailee lifted the fang as the world spun around her. She plunged it deeply into the book. Black ink squirted out of the diary and bled from the pages. Bailee stabbed again, this time on the cover. Tom started screaming. His memory slowly started to fade. All at once he exploded in a cloud of sparkling yellow dust. Just then Draco awoke and looked over to Bailee. Blood soaked her robes and she was almost unconscious.
"Bailee!, your arm..." Draco shouted. He looked at her and then down to her arm.
"We have to get you to the hospital wing!" he said
"No, it's ok... it's probably too late anyway." Bailee said
"You can't die." He said with tears coming to his eyes.
Bailee softly smiled and looked into Draco's silver eyes. She could hear the droplets of water through the cavern, the noise of nothing as it traveled through the air. It was like her senses had come into focus and then the word went fuzzy. Draco's voice sounded like a distant echo. She fell to the ground, no longer able to sit up. She could see Draco over her. He was crying and pleading her name. Her eyes were glossed with yet to be fallen tears. Her lips slightly parted and her hair lay wavy around her shoulders. All went quiet. Then she felt something warm on her arm. It was a relaxing sensation. The world slowly came back into focus. She no longer felt pain in her arm. She blinked back her tears. Draco was looking into her eyes waiting for her to wake up. She blinked. Draco held her head. She looked down to see fawkes. Then she remembered that phoenix's had healing tears. She smiled.
"Don't ever do that to me again." Draco said, smiling back at her.
"Nah.. I couldn't leave my bestie."
Draco laughed and hugged her.
"Let's get out of here." She said,
Draco nodded. He helped her to her feet and they walked back to the entrance, helping each other to walk. They found Ron and Lockhart waiting behind the pile of rocks. Ron was scowling at Draco. Bailee grabbed hold of Fawk's claw and then Draco, Ron, and Lockhart. They soared upward and out of the chamber. The night sky greeted them with cool fresh air. They soared to the castle, all the way to the astronomy tower.
