"Tan?!" Gulat kong tanong nang makasalubong siya sa hallway. I passed by the College of Business Ad dahil may ibinigay ako kay Dionne. Second-year college na kami.
I'm learning things from her for Business while I'm continuing my studies in Psychology.
"What are you doing here?!"
Hindi man lang siya nagulat. He changed his hairstyle. From shaggy long hair, he made it a bit shorter. He's wearing eyeglasses too, making him look like a dignified professor-
"Wait! Don't tell me-" hindi ko pa natatapos ang sinasabi nang lagpasan niya ako. "Isn't it Nathaniel Bermudez?" Tanong ko sa sarili, hindi na sigurado kasi hindi niya ako pinansin.
Pumihit ako para sundan siya. Pero nakita ko siyang prenteng nakasandal sa pader while crossing his arms. He's looking at me like-
"Bagay ba?" Seryoso niyang tanong.
"Alin? Being a young handsome professor?"
"So, gwapo ako?"
"As if naman hindi mo alam." I rolled my eyes. Gwapo naman talaga si Tan. He has a bit of similarity with the actor JM De Guzman. The tall version. Mas maputi din. Kaya hindi ko alam kung bakit siya nagkagusto sa akin. I mean, he can easily get any other girl.
"What are you doing here?" Tanong ko ulit.
"Working."
"We both know that this is not your line of work." He has a business to run!
"Just trying new things." Rason niya.
"Oh come on!"
"Hi, Prof!" Bati ng ilang estudyanteng dumaan sa likuran ko. Tinanguan lang sila ni Tan, looking serious and stoic. Tipong aakalain mong masungit. Napailing ako. May mga dumaang grupo ng mag-aaral muli at ganoon na naman ang nangyari.
"Enjoying the limelight, Prof?"
"Not really. I'm only here to make sure you're doing okay." Anas niya.
Sabi na eh. He must have applied for a part-time job. Ngayon ko lang siya nakita dito at hindi siya nagsabi na magtatrabaho siya here. I don't intend to make him know about my whereabouts. Pero dahil nandito na siya, wala na akong magagawa pa.
I appreciate that he cares for me. But I'm not okay with the fact that he's been spending too much time for me when I can't even return the favor.
"Thank you. But it's too much."
"Let me do this. Ayos na sa aking mabantayan ka kahit dito lang sa school."
"I have bodyguards all over this place. Plus, the Academy's security is tight."
