Kyra's POVI took long strides determinedly towards Kylie and I grabbed her by her right arm, spinning her around roughly to face me in the process. "And what exactly do you think you're doing here, Kylie Facer?" I asked her sharply, holding her roughly by her arm.
The fear and terror in her eyes was exactly what I wanted to see. It told me she clearly didn't want anyone to see her or blow her cover. It also confirmed my suspicions. She was here for something which required her to be undercover.
She looked at me with fear in her eyes, her chest heaving and tried to break free from my grip, but I wasn't having it. I held her even tighter and used my free hand to remove the wig she was wearing, throwing it roughly onto the ground.
"What now, Kylie? Cat caught your tongue? What are you doing here? Did they send you to finish what you guys started? Is that it? Are you here to finish up murdering my husband in cold blood?" I seethed.
Kylie looked up at me as tears formed in her eyes. She had dark circles around her eyes and her lip was busted. "I just want to see Jayden and say goodbye to him," she replied, her voice lowering with every word she spoke.
"Goodbye for what? He doesn't need any sort of farewell because he's not going anywhere. Yes, you might have succeeded in attempting to take his life, but let me tell you something, Kylie. Jayden is going to make it against all odds, whether you like it or not."
"For crying out loud, Kyra, I didn't have anything to do with Jayden's accident. Why would I want him dead? For what reason? He's been amazing to me. Why would I want him dead?" she responded, tears now cascading down her cheeks.
"Do not ask me questions whose answers you already have. Only you know why you would be so heartless and cruel towards the man you've known for half of your life."
Kylie wiped away her tears furiously using the back of her hands. "I won't take your insults because I'm not at fault here. I warned you, Kyra. I've been warning for the past two weeks that something like this was going to happen. I did my part. I'm going to see Jayden. I want to show him my love and support just like everyone else is."
"Over my dead body. Get out of here. Get lost and never show your face anywhere near my husband ever again. Leave this place. Haven't you caused us enough pain already?" I raged, pointing at the main exit.
"Kyra, I know we have our issues and right now a lot is going on and I'm the last person you might want to see, but please let me see Jayden. Even just a glimpse of his face, I'm begging you. My heart's bleeding and I need to see him," Kylie literally begged me.
I laughed bitterly brushing my hair back with my fingers. I felt like screaming. "Your drama queen skills won't work on me, today, Kylie. Go back to whoever sent you and tell them you failed miserably at your mission. Tell them it's mission impossible that'll never be achieved."
Kylie took a step towards me. "No one sent me here. You have no idea what I had to go through to come here."
"So why did you come here disguised as a nurse? Why did you sneak in?" I asked her, my gaze on her not softening even a little bit. I had never felt so much hatred and resentment towards another human being ever in my entire life. I couldn't help it.
"Because I was afraid that this would happen. I knew you'd never let me see him. I want to see him. I'm begging you."
"Give me one good reason why I should let you see my husband," I tested her.
"Because just like everyone else, I share a special relationship with him and want to show him my support. We were once lovers, Kyra. You'll never be able to understand what we shared and what we mean to each other. He might be your husband, but don't forget that before he was yours, he was mine so I have every right to be here," she spoke confidently as if everything she was saying was easy to digest.
