Kyra's POV"I am nervous as hell Nick. What if they hate me? What if they say bad things about me? What if I embarrass both my family and the Monteros?" I fussed as I did final touches to my make up.
"Oh Lord! Will you calm down Kyra? You are gonna be great. They are gonna love you. You are an amazing human being. Who would even say anything mean about you? You are the sweetest person I know and you are Mrs Montero. Your husband is the boss. He commands respects naturally and everyone respects him. They'll respect you too," Nick encouraged me.
My nerves were getting the best of me and I needed someone to help me. The first person that came to my mind was Nick so I immediately called him and I was lucky he answered.
I heard a baby cry in the background and it caught my attention.
"Oh my God! Nick are you at work?I'm so sorry if I'm disturbing you. I'll call you later when you are free."
"I just finished the night shift. I'm free for the next few minutes. I'm holding a friend's baby right now. She's so tiny and beautiful," Nick said and I heard him talk to the baby. It made my heart swell.
He sounded so loving and caring. He'd make an amazing dad. In no time the baby was giggling. I wanted a baby too. I wanted to experience the joy of motherhood as well.
"What's her name?"
"Emily Rose. She's so beautiful."
"Wow. Beautiful name."
"I know right. You should come here sometime. I'm working with babies and young children these days. You'll like it. Anyways, I won't waste much of your time. Wouldn't want you to be late for your first day. You are going to be amazing. All the best, Kyra."
"Thanks a lot Nick. I'll call you tonight and tell you how it went."
"Sure. Bye Kyra."
"Bye."
I cut the call then stood up from the fluffy stool in front of my dressing table then adjusted my black pencil dress that hugged my supple curves warmly.
It was slightly above the knees and I put a red three quarter sleeve ruffle hem blazer on. I put on black open toe heels that had gold ankle straps matching my earrings, necklace and hairpin.
My purse was a designer purse from my mother's boutique and it complemented my look. I put a lot of effort into my make up and hoped it was okay. I grabbed my file that lay on the neatly made bed then made a small prayer before going downstairs.
Julius and Jayden were already at the main dining table with Julius reading through a newspaper whilst drinking some coffee and Jayden busy typing on his cellphone.
I wanted to make a quiet entry but my heels seemed to have other plans. The clicking sound caught their attention and both gentlemen turned to me.
"Kyra. Good morning. My my, you look gorgeous. You look amazing in red. You should wear it more often," Julius gushed as he put his newspaper and coffee away and stood up to pull a chair for me next to Jayden and I settled in it comfortably. He was such a gentleman.
"Thank you," I answered softly as my cheeks flushed red.
Jayden kept on staring at me as if he was seeing me for the first time. He made me self conscious and uncomfortable.
Julius kept on talking to me and I replied him. He was nice and concerned about me. His son on the other hand just stared at me shamelessly as if he wanted to eat me. I was beginning to think getting on my nerves was his hobby.
