Jayden's POVBreakfast was amazing and enjoyable with everyone sharing a couple of memories and just being there for each other. We never thought we'd end up being a big family, supporting each other in this way.
The death anniversary was on the following day and we had discussed the procedure of the day over breakfast. We'd be there to support the Casellas and celebrate Gerald Casella.
For the day, we had quite a number of water activities planned. The speedboat ride was first, followed by snorkeling and an underwater treasure hunt. Everyone was excited and for the record, Kylie was willing to try out these activities.
I sat at the breakfast table after everyone had left to get ready, going through my emails. I just had to check if everything was going smoothly.
My dad was a self made billionaire and I was just his lucky son who had to carry on the legacy he had started with my mom. I was given the post of a CEO when I was twenty-three since Dad thought it wiser to expose me to a leadership role at a young age so that I'd grow to be a well versed and successful leader.
He was still an active member of the board who helped me in decision making and advised me. He ran most of all our other businesses successfully. I had my own personal achievements, but he was my role model and pillar of strength.
"May I bother you for a second," Lisa's voice broke me from my thoughts. She looked all geared up for the activities.
"Of course. What's up?" I asked as she sat in a chair next to me.
"I just wanted to thank you for helping Kyle and I talk that day."
"Okay. What else? You seem to have something on your mind."
"I need your advise. You are Kyle's best friend and you know him better than anyone else. Kyle asked me out on a date. We've been having sex for the past few days, but last night he asked me on a date. I didn't give him an answer."
"Why? Aren't you interested in him as well?"
"I am, but I don't like the idea of sharing or being the other girl in his life who's just for sex and a pain killer. He talks to many girls and flirts with them. Maybe he has sex with them as well. I wouldn't want to start a relationship that I'll regret in the future."
"Lisa, if he asked you out then it means he's serious about you. If he wasn't, he'd just insist on a no strings attached kind of a relationship. He barely asks anyone out. Just give it a try. It's worth it," I advised her.
"If anything happens to my heart you'll be held responsible, Jayden," Lisa said making me chuckle. I gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze of assurance that she'd be fine. She smiled.
"Thanks. Let's go. Everyone is already waiting for us," Lisa said, standing up.
"Of course. I haven't seen Kyra since after breakfast. Is she already there?"
"She's staying behind," Lisa informed me as I stood up and we started walking.
"Why? Everything was her idea and she was excited to do all these activities."
"Right? I was surprised as well. We were just talking and she suddenly stopped talking and wanted to be alone. She said she needs some space."
"Did you try talking to her?" I asked, purely worried about her.
"I tried. Even Mom tried, but she insisted on being given some space. She said she'd join us later in the day. Maybe she really needs space. We'll come back and check on her in a few hours. She should be fine by then."
