Jayden's POV

Kyra and I walked in silence to my office. I didn't even know what to say to her. She was no longer the woman she was when we exchanged wedding vows and the period until our honeymoon.

Maybe she got fed up with me. She was distancing herself from me. The fact that she was ready to start dating gave me a rude awakening.

I just found myself opposing the idea. She was my wife and I didn't want to share her with anyone else. I didn't want anyone else to get to experience all the cuteness, childishness and surprises Kyra was full of.

I couldn't be with her and at the same time I didn't want anyone to be with her either. Call me selfish but sharing her was totally out of question.

She wore red and she rocked it. It made her stand out and the way she handled herself naturally was admirable.

One of the things I liked the most about her was her relationship with my father. Dad liked her and so did she. Their conversation was natural and they were both comfortable with each other.

"Are you always this serious when you are at work?" Kyra's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"This is just business mode. Sometimes you have to be stern for people to follow instructions carefully and do their work to perfection," I replied.

"It appears to me that despite that you have something else on your mind. Is something bothering you?"

"No, I'm fine. Just loads of work as usual."

"I was serious when I said you can talk to me about anything. That's the least I can do for you as your wife."

"Sure. I will come to you when I need it," I replied as I pressed the button to a private elevator to the executive floor.

We both got in and I pressed the button again and we ascended to my office. Valencia, my secretary, was still on her desk on a call with probably a client or scheduling my meetings.

We both proceeded to my office which was colour themed black, grey and white. Most of the things in my office were crafted from diamond. Most details of my office were things of utmost importance and meaning to me like my mother's paintings.

There was a floor to ceiling window on the side of the main street and the opposite one that showed the entrance and Valencia's desk. From the inside you could see everything but from the outside it was just like a wall showing nothing.

Another wall carried a framed collection of rare diamonds, precious jewels and remarkable pieces of jewellery.

Kyra settled on a spotless white couch and I placed the food warmers with the food that Regina had brought on the glass table designed with jewels.

"Regina brought the food. I'm sure it's good. Nick will be here shortly," I said as I ambled back to my desk to arrange some papers and stack back some files onto the shelf right next to my desk.

"Did you really have to call him here?"

"What? You wanted to have lunch with Kyle instead or Monica?" I asked purely confused.

"No. I mean he must be busy and you are here."

"Nick is free for the next two hours and he was coming here to collect his dad's watch anyway. You didn't like the idea of us having lunch together."

"I was just joking with you," she grumbled making me chuckle.

I was about to reply when I saw Nick talk to Valencia shortly and then he walked up to my office.
