Fondue

3 weeks until the due date

BUCKY'S POV
Me and Y/N were sitting on the bed, her head laying on my lap, her hands rubbing my thighs as mine played with hair and rubbed her belly. Her stomach was quite big at this point in the pregnancy. Making her wobble around as she tried to walk, since she was so un balanced. It always caused me to chuckle, but I quickly came to her aid, because I'm not a asshole.

"Hey Sargent." She whispered.

"What do you need Doll?"

"I'm having a craving." She giggled.

"And what would it be? I asked intrigued. Usually she just wanted strawberries or spaghetti...she can down a whole bowl in under like 10 minutes and still go for seconds.

"Pineapple and Chocolate." She smiled all giddy. I looked down at her shocked, she didn't say spaghetti or strawberries.

"Really? A change of fruit." I smiled.

"Yeah, she's switching her appetite, much to my enjoyment. Don't get me wrong I love strawberries and spaghetti, but I'm gonna need a break after shes born." She laughed.

"Well, I'll be more than happy to go get you some pineapple and chocolate." I gave her a kiss on the forehead and stood up from the bed. I slipped on a hoodie and left the room.

I walked into the kitchen and I saw Tony making a cup of coffee. Even though it was 7 in the evening. "Don't you think it's a little late for coffee?" I joked. He spun around and chuckled.

"Me and Banner have been working non stop all day on some shit and we still have so much to do." He groaned and poured his coffee into the mug and took a giant sip, making him smile in joy.

"Sounds like a fun time." I said sarcastically and began looking through the fridge for pineapple.

"What are you looking for?" He asked.

"Do we..." But I was cut off by my phone vibrating. I took it out and saw Y/N was calling me. "One second." Tony nodded his head and leaned back into the counter. I answered the call and leaned against the fridge.

"Hey doll, what's up?"

"Sorry I just wanted to add something to the list. Could you also grab original chips." She said all sweetly, but knowing her she probably felt terrible for asking for another thing.

"Don't apologize, sweetheart. It's all good." I smiled, I knew she couldn't see it. But I just imagined she could.

"Thank you. I love you so much."

"I love you to." I hung up the phone and slipped It back into my pocket.

"So what were you looking for?" Tony asked again.

"Oh, right." I cleared my throat. "Y/N is craving pineapple and chocolate and now chips. Do we have all of that?" I asked my head in the fridge.

"Um...I know we have the chips and chocolate, but I think it's a no on the pineapple." Tony informed. I let out a frustrated sigh and shut the fridge door.

"Thanks Tony." I said and than pulled out my phone again. I clicked on her icon and began texting her.

"So I have to pick up a few things, I'll just be a little longer than I thought."

"Bucky, it's fine you don't have to go pick up shit, I'll be fine."

"Yeah...no. I want you to be happy. So I'll be back in a few minutes."

"Ugh, fine your to damn sweet."

"I know ;)"

"🖕"

"Love you to."

I started laughing and slipped the phone into my pocket again, I checked to make sure I had my wallet...which I did. I than walked to the garage, saying goodbye to Tony on my way out.

I hopped into my truck, staring it up, the engine roaring to life. I took off and drove to the grocery store.

Back at the compound
I placed down the bag of groceries on the table, shopping as fast as I could at the store. I didn't want to keep Y/N waiting a moment later.

I started cutting up the fruit, when Nat walked into the kitchen. "Hey Bucky, what are you doing?" She asked, while eating a piece of mango.

"Making a fondue board for Y/N." I smiled.

"Aw that's adorable." She said all giddily. "Can I help?"

"Um...yeah could you start melting the chocolate." She nodded her head and grabbed the chocolate melts and walked over to the stove. I continued shopping of fruit, I got pineapple, along with mango's, grapes and I know she said she wasn't in the mood to eat them I still got strawberries...just in case.

After ten minutes, the board was completed. A bowl of chocolate fondue sat in the middle as fruit filled one side, chips on the other. I also bought a bottle of non alcoholic champagne, which I new didn't taste bad, Since we've bought it before.

I filled two wine glasses and placed them on the board. Nat helped me down the hallway, so I wouldn't spill anything. When we reached our door, she opened it slightly for me.

"Thank you Nat." I whispered.

"Anytime Barnes. Have fun." She winked and walked by me. I pushed the door open more and immediately I saw her head poke out from the couch, she paused the movie as I made my way over to her.

Her eyes were filled with awe, love, excitement and happiness. As I placed the board on the table. I sat down on the couch and she immediately pressed her lips against mine. Than started peppering kisses all over my face. "I love you, I love you, I love you ." She smiled.

"I love you to Doll. I hope this is what you wanted." I said a bit nervous.

"Are you serious!" She exclaimed. "Buck, this is amazing!"

"Well while I was making it, I thought about how we haven't had a date night in a while. So I thought why not tonight." I smiled. She looked to me with so much love and smashed her lips against mine.

"How did I get so lucky?" She smiled and kissed my cheek.

"I ask my self that question everyday."

We kissed again and than snuggled onto the couch. She hit play on the movie and we clinched our glasses together. She than looked over the board, her eyes still in awe at what was before her.

"And you even got strawberries." She joked.

"Just in case." She smiled at that and dipped a piece of pineapple into the chocolate.

"Did you do all of this yourself?" She asked, as a drop of chocolate escaped her lips. I leaned in and swiped my thumb over the chocolate.

"Nat helped me." I said and than licked the chocolate off my thumb. "All better." I smirked, switching the roles of when she did that to me at the gender reveal party.

"I'll have to thank her later. But for right now, thank you so much Honey. This is literally the best." She smiled genuinely and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips.

"I want you to be happy Doll. I'll do anything for you. You know that right?"

She nodded her head and I gave her another gentle kiss. We than both started eating everything on the board. We would occasionally feed each other, which would cause huge ass smiles to be glued to our faces.

Just seeing her smile was the best sight in the entire world, nothing could beat that. Okay maybe...seeing her walking down the aisle beat that...But this takes a very close second.

"I love you Bucky." She said as she leaned onto my shoulder.

"I love you to Y/N."
