Armin used to spend a lot of time in the central city hospital. He had appointments scheduled every two weeks and by the time they occurred he used to buy something to eat in the cafeteria and walk around the place while waiting for his turn, which was usually delayed because of other patients but still had to arrive on time in case it didn't happen.

This had caused him to practically already know the whole hospital, considering that he liked to walk while he waited and that he had been coming for years, before even being more followed.

It was usual to find Dr. Jaeger somewhere, he had also coincided with Historia when she came to do the first check-up for the pregnancy and well, he could basically meet anyone he knew.

Armin walked too long and too many times around the hospital, it would really be strange if he never met someone he knew. You would be surprised how many times he has seen schoolmates nervously leave their consultations after noticing someone they knew nearby.

They had warned him that there was still 10 minutes left until his turn, so the Arlert was hovering around the surgery floor, which was nearby.

What he didn't expect when passing through the waiting room was to meet that person.

"Jean?" He utters, stunned, almost dropping his coffee to the ground.

The brunette looked up when he heard his name, barely coming to realize that that voice belonged to Armin.

"Armin, uh..." He rubs his eyes and gets up from his seat. "Hi, I didn't expect to see you." He approaches, but with his gaze fixed on the ground.

"Jean, is everything okay?" He asks softly.

"Yeah, I just... My dad had a problem and I'm waiting for him, that's all," the blond nods, he wasn't going to force him to speak, that is, he was on the surgery floor and looked clearly affected, he knew that it was serious.

"Does it bother you if I keep you company? It must be boring waiting alone," he says, as if nothing is happening.

"Sure you have things to do."

"No, in fact I was leaving and nothing more than a boring afternoon awaits me with nothing to do at home."

"You have nothing to read?"

"Don't be mean," he laughs, managing to lighten the mood. "I finished the book I was reading on the way on the train so no, nothing."

"What are you doing here?" He asks.

"Medical check-up" is the first thing that comes to mind. "I had to renew my medical certificate for physical education class."

"Yeah, of course."

"Come on, we have to sit down. It will take a while, right? It's already making you sleepy and everything," he says, trying to make him believe that he hadn't realized he had cried.

"Yes, you're right," he obeys him and sits down with him.

"Coffee? It will wake you up," he offers.

"You drink coffee?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Why wouldn't I drink coffee?" He frowns.

"I assumed you didn't like bitter things," he shrugs.

"Not because of how I am I have to like sweet things, what's that?" He criticizes.

"It's just that you're too kind and nice in general, it's even gross," he says, honestly and with no intention of offending.

"I won't give you my coffee," the Arlert replies, with an amused smile.
