"Hey," Jean catches Armin's attention, leaning against the lockers and smiling, sly as always. "Hi," he says when he turns around.

"Hi," he says, smiling.

"You're free today, right?"

"Yes, why?" He asks, as he puts his slippers in his locker.

"We're going to do something today." Armin looks at him, frowning.

"What exactly?"

"I will surprise you."

"Jean, what are you talking about?" He laughs.

"I don't have to give you all the information."

"No, but my grandfather likes to know where I am. How do we know that you won't kidnap me?"

"I could lie about where we're going and kidnap you anyway."

"Do you want to try to lie to me?" He smiles defiantly, and Jean ponders for a moment.

"Honestly, no."

"Better." He closes his locker. "So I can't know where we are going? Hmm," he thinks. "Okay, but no kidnappings."

"That's hard to promise." The blonde keeps a laugh on his lips.

"Why do you want to take me somewhere by surprise?"

"You'll find out, don't be anxious."

"Jean," he looks at him.

"Oh shit." He grabs his head, tossing it back. "It's not what I meant," he is quick to say and Armin laughs.

"Easy, I know, I just found your choice of words funny."

"You like to torture me."

"Well, you're the one who asks an anxious person not to be anxious."

"It was an accident."

"Don't worry, I can't be anxious if I'm on medication."

"Are you medicated? Right now?"

"Yes."

"Shit."

"Don't worry, it's not as if I was drugged. You wouldn't know the difference if I didn't tell you, I'm the same as always."

"Hey, don't act like I'm treating you differently for knowing it," he points out and Armin shakes his head, with a smirk.

"No, on the contrary, you treat me the same as always and talk to me normally. It didn't change what you think of me because that's the kind of person you are, it's another one of the things I like about you."

"Maybe I do that because that doesn't affect my perspective of you, you said so, you're the same. I don't care if you have some disorder, it's you, it's always been you."

"Well, not everyone thinks that way."

"And they treat you differently just for that? They miss it, screw them all." Armin smiles.

"Screw them all," he agrees, making Jean glad to hear him like that.

They were so centred on each other that they didn't even hear the Jaeger getting close to them.

"We can talk?" Eren reaches out to his best friend, causing both boys to react and get out of their own world.

"Yeah, sure," Armin replies, seeing him now.

They both noticed the heavy and gloomy aura that Eren brought with him, something was wrong.

"Well, see you at the exit then?" Oh, but Jean's look and smile could easily make the world around him disappear again.
